My high score is 750. Post your scores!
700.
I failed on Arabic, Swahili and Ossetic.
I didn't even know Ossetic was a language, and my spellchecker agrees.
>>60044872
In my defense, the audio was kinda shit for some of these recordings.
>>60044936
>Belgium
>not knowing Arabic and Swahili
Aren't these your country's national languages now?
>>60044872
150
Japanese don't know European language.
>>60045037
What ones did you get right? What did you get wrong?
I feel I don't belong
>>60045141
Jesus fuck.
How did you do so well?
>>60045048
We have no chances to listen to European language unlike Asian language. So we can't know difference of European language.
>>60045178
Do you remember which languages you chose incorrectly? What languages did you choose correctly?
>>60045155
there aren't many real africans languages on there
and you got to know how turkish sounds
and how hatian is just ebonics french and the difference between spanish and portuguese and you should do 1000+
>>60045215
>and how hatian is just ebonics french
Yeah I just figured this out today.
>>60045209
I could choose Chinese, Italian and Russian. But European and others are failed.
>>60045295
How good are you at hearing Vietnamese, Thai, Korean, Hmong, Cambodian, and Cantonese?
>>60045338
yue and viet sounds close as you can see i got it wrong
thai and cambodian sounds close
these can be grouped some what and taglog is a weird mix of everything
korean is pretty unique so out of those you should be able to pick it out, japanese too
>>60045392
Yeah, I can get Korean because I've watched several full K dramas, and that gives you a feel for the language.
I studied Mandarin in High school, so I can pick that out
Japanese from muh anime
Vietnamese, I watched a documentary on vietnamese. Interesting language. I see thai as the other vietnamese lol
900.
Only ended up fucking on Turkish, Ossetic and Finnish. Thought Finnish was Swedish.
>>60044872
750 first try.
gonna go again
>>60045338
Yeah, I know pronunciation of Asian language. But that game suggested most questions that is European language.
>>60044872
Too many kind of Chinese.
>>60045494
Nah, there are a few Asian and Indian languages in there too. And Arabic.
>>60045560
I failed on Swedish, Norwegian and Polish. I've never heard these. Maybe, I think most Japanese too.
javanese sounds foul.
>>60045816
Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and English must be free passes for you.
>>60046380
yeah, but there was alot of languages i've never even heard off, that really fucked me over
(Marathi,Urdu,Telugu,Ossetic).
How the fuck do I differentiate between Spanish and Portuguese?
>>60046688
Marathi and Telugu are just dialects of Indian. Indian languages. Listen to them, and they'll sound like pajeets.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_India
Urdu is just an Arabic form of Hindi. They speak it in Pakistan. Years ago, a large majority of muslims moved from India to Pakistan, and a large number of Hindus moved from Pakistan to India. Hindi and Urdu are essentially the same language, just with slight variations, and different scripts.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindi%E2%80%93Urdu_controversy
Ossetic is apparently a culture in Iran. I don't know too much about it.
Thanks to my Eurasian genes. Dunno how much more will I last
>>60045717
If you want to do some reading on it, check out Swedish, Norwegian and Danish. They're all similar languages, and the speakers can understand eachother, mostly.

Polish has some similar sounds to Russian, from what I hear by ear. They're part of Eastern Europe.

>>60044872
Clearly heard English when the speaker changed in the Swedish audio file, and I dismissed it as some odd accent from Scotland or something. They probably quoted an English report or paper in hindsight but still unfair.
>>60047041
link to the swedish audio file?
>guy starts speaking quietly through a phone
>>60047059
Soz I don't have it anymore. New game now
>>60046721
>>60046887
How well do you do with the Indian dialects? I would expect you'd identify all of them every time, including Urdu, even if you can't understand them all.
>>60047041
Yeah, there was english in one of the urdu ones as well.
>>60044872
shit game gives hindi every 3rd round
wtf is this
>>60047245
Nah.
You're just unlucky, bub.
>>60047261
and now it started spamming uzbek
i swear to god whoever made the randomness generator on that game is retarded
>>60047261

5th recording the same. seriously the randomness is retarded
>Vietnamese
>Thai
Holy shit
>>60047431
Vietnamese - ching chong ding dong
Thai - krang nang bang trang
>>60046799
>Ossetic is apparently a culture in Iran. I don't know too much about it.
Ossetic is spoken in Georgia and the Russian Caucasus mate
>>60046799
>dialects of Indian
Marathi is, but Telugu is in a completely different language family
>>60047474
What is Russian sounds like?
>>60047595
I listen to it a lot so I'm more familiar with it so I can't really describe it that way 2bh. I don't know shit about Thai and Vietnamese, primarily because they sound like crap and I don't want to listen to them.

>Doing bretty good

>>60047951

>>60048529
>confusing turkish with marathi
whew
600 is my score.
I got an easy stretch of French, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin. Correctly guessed Hausa only because I heard "Boko Haram"
I think I incorrectly guessed Swahili as Finnish kek.
>>60048981
hahaha yes, and i guessed javanese cuz i heard jakarta
>>60047634
He wants you to give Onomatopaeia that represents Russian, like you did with Thai and Vietnamese
>>60047558
>Telugu is in a completely different language family
What
I have an indian colleague who speaks Telugu as her native tongue (she also speaks Hindi). Surely it's Indian.
>>60047532
Fuck.
I don't know what I was reading about then lmao
Annoying that alot of the clips were bad quality phone calls
150 because fuck languages
also portuguese sounds slavic as fuck
>language is obviously chinese
>have two different chinese languages to choose from
>language is obviously indian
>have multiple indian languages to chose from
fuck this shit
>>60049577
1150
>>60050053
https://youtu.be/jL8hV-zjJ_4?t=34s
>>60049604
thats because everyone equates slavic languages to have zh and sh sounds prevalent despite only polish and czech being that way
>>60049416
Hindi is an Indo-Aryan language from Indo-European language family. Telugu is a language spoken in southern India. It is from Dravidian language family.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Language_family
What is the difference between Wu and Yue? Fucking horse shit.
>>60051394
Interesting.
Still an indian dialect though, technically, right?
>>60051482
They're simply dialects from different areas of China. They all battled eachother etc. hundreds and hundreds of years ago.
In terms of sound, you'd have to work that out yourself. Sorry pal.
900
Portuguese
Hausa
Bengali
>>60046721
They sound completely different.
>>60047154
I did pretty good, but it is a fact that all South Indian languages languages sound the same; It is really easy to differentiate between the North Indian ones(Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Urdu) but even I cannot differentiate between the Southern ones like Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam
>>60052063
Yes. Half of the vocabulary is same and it is somehow understandable to Hindi speakers; The script and grammar are fucked though.
Uzbek tripped me up, it sounded like Russian except the guy had an odd accent.
3k no lives lost bitches, I'll stop here though, I don't want to fall off the throne yet. :^)
>>60055859
I'm a (British) Pakistani, my issue was mostly Hindi vs Urdu since it's nearly identical besides certain words or phrases when speaking, I've had to replay clips and listen to the accent and words used instead, everything else was slightly easier, the South Indian languages were difficult for me though. I agree.
at least I got the lowest score posted!
Got 1450 when I did it a few months back but couldnt repeat it, funnily enough. Posted it on a forum and everybody got scores in the 500-700 range.
