Pro tips:
1) Nouns always end with a vowel in their basic form.
2) Letters B, C, F, G, Q, W, X, Z and Å are not used in Finnish and D is not used in eastern dialects.
3) There are no consonant clusters.
4) There are quite a few double vowels and consonants in words.
5) There are no scribbles above letters other than dots above i, j, Ä/ä and Ö/ö.

Pronunciation and grammar can be found on the web, so go search there. The only slang we have is the Helsinki slang and it's absolute cancer, so the less you know about it, the better. Dialects are common but there's no point in learning those in the beginning, because they are quite different from the "official" language and sometimes even hard to understand by other Finns.
