I know that in China, Chinese consider a tiger as king of the animals.
I wonder what animal consider Japanese if not the tiger as well.

Hi Japanese. Maybe you have the answer.?

Lion is. But probably this concept would have come from Europ after the westernization in 19th century. Befor then, we mostly imported books and other culture from china, so it would have been tiger as china back then.

King of Animals in Japan

Japan has had no tiger outside of zoos. I guess the wolf fills the spot of the most feral ingrown animal though they went extinct at the start of the 20th century.

Eating animals was a taboo before modernization in the 19th century. I doubt there was a widespread consumption of such a thing.
