We pay taxes to our government
Our government actually does something for us with those tax money and pays for clean, drinkable water for everyone.
Whereas in your case, you pay taxes to your government and it spends all those money on paying back loans to the privately owned federal reserve instead of things they are supposed to go to and you have to pay for your own drinkable water and health care... etc
