Yes.
Dutch as well. We used to consider ourselves Duits as well (Dietsers or Nederduits, meaning Low German). The English went on to call us that because they had more contact with us than the Germans because we used to be quite important during the colonial era.
Later on, we began to call ourselves Nederlanders and only the Germans remained Duits in our language.

Paises Bajos is the literal translation of "de Nederlanden" (The Low Countries) which is now used as singular Nederland (Low Country).

Yes, it's far more common but nevertheless it's only colloquial. "Neerlandes" sounds posh in an informal conversation, so we just say Holandes.
