I don't really think there's actually a gene related to that. Until my late 13's I had the "playmobil haircut" and then one day, puberty struck. Nowadays, I need to cut my hair at least once a month if I don't wanna look the Jackson 5.

Not sure what you're implying by this but there certainly are black genetic traits. Hair folicle shape is one of those traits. "Black" traits tend to always dominate over recessive "White" ones. So just a little bit can go a long way.
