Contrary to popular belief Aboriginals, Papuans and Melanesians are genetically distinct races from one another as much as other races are to each other.
Subsistence wise most Africans have been farmers for the past 5k years. They domesticated Pearl Millet, Sorghum, Rice and a number of other grains and pulses/vegetables + cows, donkeys and guinea fowl. The banana was adopted in mainland Africa 3-4k years ago from Australoid-Southeast Asian seafarers who then migrated from the Swahili coast to Madagascar.
They were clans to empires
Aboriginals altered landscapes by fire that encourage the main foods they harvested, they altered landscapes by fertilizing certain murnong fields and intensely harvested millets. They did not domesticate any animal but had adopted dingo which contrary to popular belief were not hunting dogs.
They were clans to federations
Papuans and Melanesians domesticated banana, taro, coconut, breadfruit, sago, sugarcane and other vegetables about 10k years ago. They were farmers who live in hamlets but got to places of chieftains in many areas thanks to Lanita expansion
