For the most part, I would say Eternal. Yank humour can often be kind of cheesy or "haha poos and wees xD" type of stuff. Also the Brits spawned Australian and Kiwi humour, which imho is generally pretty good.

>>59538667
Your whole country is a joke, so that does make sense I suppose.

Monty python is childish nonsense. It might have been funny to children 20 years ago I guess but it hasn't aged well.
>>

not just adult men in dress the sketch with cross dressers makes fun of british women which was really a social taboo and all women featured in monty python were all bimbo blonde type

Cana fucking Dah

The second biggest country in the world, next to a superpower, and yet... Nothing...

Beavers, mounties, and that's it, just a bunch of asians and even dumber pseudo americans freezing their balls off during winter.

A fucking leaf? A leaf? from a tree that isnt even native to Canada?

When an empty shithole like Alaska has a bigger identity than your country something really wrong is happening.

Congratulations Canada, not only you are the biggest non country in the entire world, but you are also terrible at shitposting, no one gets mad, no one thinks "that's cleaver", no one gets frustrated or finds it funny, everyone just thinks "that post has to be the most exciting thing that Canasian will EVER experience".

That's your life Canada, a post on 4chan is the peak of your entire leaf, i mean life.

SAD.

American humor is more varied. Maybe more breadth, but less depth in some cases.

British humor is heavily based on sarcasm, to the extent that they are actually convinced that they have a more intimate relationship with irony than anybody else (especially Americans). They do sarcasm well, but it's to the exclusion of other kinds of comedy, and it's often not as clever as they would like to think (lots of blunt sarcasm and, like everywhere else, only rare bits of truly good and layered irony).

American humor is also more varied because there is a higher volume of output. The US has a much larger population and has an equally strong tradition of stand-up comedy as well as in many cases a more thriving theatre scene, which means that there will simply be more of it. That also means that the noise-to-signal ratio can be worse.

British humor is less varied but may be generally of higher quality for the opposite reasons, and also because the British media acts much more as a gatekeeper-- and, more importantly, can afford to do so. Since entities like the BBC are publicly supported, they can take more risks and pursue goals other than profit-- like art, for instance. That doesn't mean that art can't be profitable, it just means that it doesn't have to be.

Lastly, most people outside the US consume large amounts of American media, and because this media is highly globalized and mostly abstracted from any kind of meaningful context (especially for you, the foreigner), they mostly consume the lowest form of it. American media is exported to make a profit, and the safest bet in that regard is placed on easily-digestible, easily-understood media that will please as many people as possible. So, if you're not from the US, your opinion on American culture is similar to an American's opinion on good cheese. They may think they know what they're talking about, but they've never actually experienced the real thing.

Caveat emptor, I'm pretty stoned.

I'll say this
Americans will often run comedies that work into the ground
Brits have 5 episodes a year for some shows another's usually over after a few seasons
They still can't do absurdist or carton humor though
>>

Fuq, fellow burger bringing the smack down

>>
>>59539015
they can do some nice dark humor though it is absurdist
>>
>>59539015
>absurdist
Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, possibly 2 of the biggest names in tv comedy here produce a lot of absurdest and surreal comedy, same with the League of Gentlemen and a lot of other shows. What US TV shows fit the brief?

I will concede that your cartoons are the best in the world by a long way. We do have some funny absurdist stuff but it's a very different flavour, it's don't by older rather than younger people

Fawlty Towers is legendary

American humor is too... fake

We have Big Trouble in Little China, Spaceballs, Aqua teen, so much more.

Brits have Red Dwarf, Month Python, Mr. Bean basically British humor is nerd shit. Especially Monty Python. Everyone who loves Monty Python is a fat nerd.
