Whenever I heard an American say "dry county", I thought it was just some bumfuck county that didn't allow the sale of alcohol on Sunday (which is bad enough). But it turns out, the sale of alcohol is completely banned in many counties. In some of them, it's even illegal to transport alcohol.

I'm pretty sure yellow just means that there is some sort of restriction on selling it (like you need a license to sell or something) while red means there is some sort of restriction on buying (like not on Sundays or something)
