Serious question,

Did you grow up poor/in poverty?
>>
>>59271081
nope but i wish i did, life would have been more interesting
>>
>>59271081
yes
my parents divorced when I'm 7
then I lived with mom
she was so depressed so she couldn't work 2 or 3 days in a week
>>
>>59271081
yes but not extreme so it was pretty nice life was a dream and I could blame it all on other people but I cried a lot so yeah oh and i almost died
>>
>>59271081
thought i was

turns out parents are ultra rich and just didn't want me to be a spoiled faggot. also they're jews basically
>>
Relative to the first world.
>>
>>59271081
My parents are narcissistic cunts that earned their first million by the time they were 20 and were worth 300 million by their 30s, but lost most of their net-worth in 2008. They act like wannabe Rockefellers.
>>
My parents did.
>>
>>59271081
No, I can't say I have but I always was poorer than my friends anyway. Like they all had nice houses with gardens when I had a roof that let rain in, cracks in the wall, they had the PS 3 when I was still playing the PS 1/2, dope bikes when I had a 30 y.o one etc
But I never minded it tb.h
>>
>>59271221
couldn't you tell from the house/appartement you live in?
>>
>>59271287
what do they do?
>>
>>59271321
Well that's the thing: They never allowed him inside the house
>>
>>59271321
no, lived in a shitty house
>>
No.
>>
>>59271167
This exactly
I never felt poor but I guess we were

Development / Construction. They still own a lot of the high value property in my city, but they used to span several states and had several hotels in Miami.
>>
>>59271081

>>59271104
No.
>>
>>59271081
Kind of but bot really, we didn't have much money at the very beginning when I was still very little. But about when I got into school my father started earning well... it took a bit for my mother because she had been a slave intern at the hospital for a couple of years but nowadays she actually surpassed him since she has become an attending resident.
>>
>>59271287
This is what you get for not investing with Peter Sheiff.

>THE END IS NEAR. INVEST ON MY COMPANY AND REPENT OF ALL YOUR SINS!!!!!

Jokes aside, its good that they work together and had sucess togheter.
Will you follow their steps or you are that son that play vydia. smoke weed and hate your parents on a daily basis?
>>
Not really, my parents had some dificulties for some time, but never got hunger or anything.

>>
>>59271287
Don't you get along with your parents?
>>
it was hard, my father is in debt of like 20 thousand to the government and still raising since 2008 crisis

Yeah. Grew up in a ghetto and I got a job as soon as I got out of high school in order to help my dad support my mom and 6 sisters. Most of my sisters got jobs right out of high school too, except for my youngest sister. We're all pretty well off now though.

And they say that the problem with blacks in america is that they are opressed by "institutionalized racism"...

Just the fact that you got both your parents gave you and your siblings a huge advantage already.

My family was very rich up to when I was 15. My father went bankrupt in 2008 and killed himself. After that, I lived in a small house in the suburbs with my grandparents up to when I was 20 years old, since then I live in a rented apartment. I had everything someone would want, and lost everything so quick. Nowadays I only have my grandparents and my two brothers, my mother commited suicide two years ago.
>>
Yes but somehow we always managed to live in nice neighborhoods so it was no biggie.

34, and yeah I'm the oldest. My sisters aren't that much younger than me though. Most have already been married and are living comfy lives.

If ppl did this, 90% of the country would be wiped out clean.

Yeah. He killed himself the morning they started to auction our house. Left a note saying it was not our fault, and for my mother to stay strong.

Yes. I was really poor, and then dad died when I was like 14, though is better this way. Lived with my mom and my sister since then.
I am better now, but it was really bad, though it didn't feel like that.

Well, yeah, kinda
I was sharing a room with my brother all my life and all the way through uni, sleeping on a mattress laid down on the ground, always had to fear if they would cut out the power, never could invite anyone over since the house was a mess, never travelled abroad etc.

Yes. My father was intelligent and had good employment (managed an IT team at a Fortune 500 company), but he died when I was young. Due to his gambling problem, my family was left penniless. My mother managed restaurants previously, but dropped out of the workforce to raise my brother and I. She was out of the workforce for such a duration that she never found decent employment.

It was pretty shitty, but we lived in a rural, white area so I never had to experience life in a ghetto.

Yeah, same would have been true if I still lived in the Dominican Republic. Thankfully my parents moved here when I was 2 so I got auto citizenship. We send money to my grandmother who still lives there, she can't keep up with the monthly charge to keep my grandfather in his tomb.

Some people blame poison, or tobacco plantations, but the people from the region blame the 70% german muh heritage.
Not even kidding. My grand mother kill herself this year just because she didn't like Carnaval. One of his neighbor hang himself because his corn plantation was soaked and ruined.
For fucking sake, I remember when my grand father get cancer and ask me to handle his shotgun "because niggers".

Yes, my family had to move to countryside three times to work as housekeepers because we couldn't even afford renting a house. Although we had times of misery, I'm proud that we never had debts or needed to take loans.

He was in prison for selling cocaine. My Mum and him had too many children too young, so he turned to crime to pay for the family. No, I grew up wealthy.

But all my friends were p00r. I guess my parents didn't come from really wealthy backrounds growing up, and they never discouraged me from having poor friends.

I stuck with them as long as I could but a lot of them are either dead, have substance abuse problems, are criminals, have become NEETS, or are just insane.

I informally adopted my best friend into our family because his parents killed themselves and he has no siblings.

Sometimes all he had to eat for a week was water and a block of cheddar cheese.

I'm starting a 30k salary this monday, but desu I'm still haunted that I'm the only one who seems to have made it this far.

Except my bro, he's doing alright too I guess.

You know why? Because I'm white
>>
no but i'm poor now
>>
>>59271081
No...ish.

My mother was a "stay at home mom" (read: watched soap operas all day, spent my father's money, and rarely (if ever) cooked) because my dad made enough money for the both of them, and to raise my little sister and I, AND have some left over for vacations and so on.

HOWEVER, my parents had a clear favourite, and it wasn't me.

My little sister wants a new TV? She gets it. She wants a laptop? She gets it. She wants to go out? She does. Concerts, movies, shopping...anything her little heart desired, she got. Hell, even now she's going to university and my parents are paying for her EVERYTHING (housing, schooling, transport, food, phone, bills, etc.).

And then there was me. I guess I was an accident, or maybe I just suffered from being the middle-ish child (I have an older half brother), I honestly don't know. I had freedom to do whatever, sure, but that only came because my parents literally didn't give two fucks about me. 13 and out at 03h? Who cares. I need glasses? Too bad, I'd better get a job and pay for them. Hungry? You're damn right I wasn't allowed to eat "their" food.

I paid rent to them starting when I was able to work, was homeless for a bit...basically I didn't really have parents. Sure they gave me a roof and a bed, but outside of that and the bare minimum I needed to live on until I was "old enough", I had no support from them. So while THEY were well off, I was (and still am) not.

On the one hand, it sucks. But on the other, it's really helped me to be independent. I'm married, have my own place, have a steady job, pay all my own bills (though I've always done that, so whatever), and...yeah. I'd have liked to do post-secondary too, but I'm happy enough where I am.

tl;dr: parents have money, but my little sister is their only care; I was basically neglected, and was (and still am) a poorfag.
>>

>couldn't afford school uniforms for a while so I got hand-me-downs from my friend's older brother (got bullied at school for that a lot which kinda fucked me up)
>mum couldn't afford to feed all of us so she'd go without dinner a lot, she'd have a small breakfast and grab what she could when there was free food at work
>grandparents would sometimes bring food
>mum was constantly worried about money and losing the house, would constantly talk about how the worry would kill her in the next 10 years
>mum had to work a double-job which stressed her out a lot
>neighbourhood was a bit iffy sometimes but we managed to get by without any major incidents aside from gang-member neighbours from time-to-time
>back then there was no social welfare for our situation so my family got no help from the government at all
>dad usually didn't pay child support because my mum was too foolish to arrange it properly

I don't know if that qualifies, but it makes me kind of angry when people say I have privilege because I'm white, that privilege sure as hell didn't help my family.

I grew up lower middle class even though my parents had a lot of money. My dad lived in the projects till he was ten and my mom was raised by my ultra snobbish rich grandparents. They decided they didn't want to raise a rich brat so didn't buy me anything expensive between the ages of 6-18, then kinda told me I was on my own except for health insurance after high school. They'd do weird stuff like bring home filet mignon, shrimp and risotto dinners for themselves and give me Macaroni and Cheese with cube steak instead. They wanted to motivate me work for myself I guess, but I actually just thought we were poor for a long time. We had pretty much the cheapest shit possible. Only nice things we had at all were a high end TV and a tricked out Mustang. Besides that my parents lived like we were in poverty. Dad would literally drive 3 miles to a different donut store instead of the place down our street because they were 65 cents instead of $1.10 each and said stores like Target and Vons were too expensive. I found out my parents were actually pulling in north of $100k per year when I was 17 and my dad was explaining tax shit to me.

A bit...i had to cry for a week so my parents bought me a Playstation 1....i regret now that they felt pity for me and accepted

I guess I can answer on behalf of most Norwegian people.

In scandinavian countries, its very difficult for someone to become too poor or too rich.
Everybody is leveled thanks to the high taxes.

>Did you grow up poor/in poverty?

Yes. We were so poor our asses were made of two pieces.
>>
Quite the opposite, but somehow I still managed to fuck up

Extreme poverty (in my counyty). Slept at families' houses until i was 15. We drank boot polish mixed with mentholated spirits mixed together instead of regular alcohol, I got educated at home, and all my food was from the gubberment/what random stranger could spare me. My clothes were from the Salvation Army.

no my parents are rich but i'm a turbo sperg unable to study a serious career so i'll probably end up poor
>>
Not exactly poverty, just with insanely frugal parents, so all my possessions and clothes were second hand but we'd also travel all over the world.

Now that your economy is more pro market, you should copy some kind of business that have worked out in other parts of the planet and go for it.

Or live of dividends.

The two of you had gold in your hands and are about to loose everything.

Dude, if both of you keep more than 3 hours in front of the computer per day playing Dota or whateaver, you can easily learn about economy and stock market.

You could shitpost all day on 4chan while looking at your investiments in other screen.

Its not that simple in the beggining, but you get the basics in 3 months if you study a bit everyday.

I hate numbers and I'm no good with them anyway. I dream of being a writer, I spend plenty of time reading and I keep a journal.

I just have no passion for business whatsoever. My father loves it, but the thought of it drives me insane.

At least my brother will likely be an engineer or statistician so its not like I'm the only hope for my family name

I also have some other mental issues that make it all more difficult.

Dude, I took 3 ritalins THIS MORNING ALONE.

And you dont need to be that good with numbers.

You just have to put some data on Excel, and them compare for how much your brought, how much you sold and what was your incomme.

Not even taxes you have to worry abuot because the IRS probably gettis its taxes in every transaction.

And even better. If you REALLY dont want to learn any of this, just ask your father about dividends and how to "yield" works.

>At least my brother will likely be an engineer or statisticia
