Yes, I've noticed those similarities with other peasant dishes. Unfortunately most French haute cuisine is overpriced here so I have mostly tried it by cooking it myself. Some recipes online are surprisingly good They end up tasty, though probably nowhere near whatever's considered standard. Ça marche pour moi.

As a Gardois in Paris for studies, I try to convert my friends to regional dishes like tielle, brandade, pissaladière...
There's quite a lot of things I can't find in Paris though: telines, fougasse, good daube...

>fougasse

Really ? I assumed you could find those pretty much in any bakery, granted it won't be the same as the ones you get here but still
But anyway, keep up the good work show them Parisian how it's done in the province

Half of the italian cusisne you can find in provence tough.

This is not French food and I hate that it completely skews the perception of French food abroad.

Italian food has more influence around the world and is more popular with common people. French food is for snob rich faggots.

>Italian food has more influence around the world

I don't see think so

>is more popular with common people

That can be true, since foreigners are obssessed with the haute-cuisine meme, just like you are
>>
>>59067556
Do you see anyone eating French food on their everyday lives? I don't. Meanwhile, pasta, pizza, lasagna, etc are worldwide dishes. French food is something you eat only once in your life if you aren't rich.

>haute-cuisine

That's for rich people.

Baguette, cheese (bire especially), croissants, macarons, wines from Champagne, Bordeaux, Beaujolais...

You must be so proud when you see people eating pasta with ketchup or deep dish (or kebab) pizza.

Truly the best legacy.

>Anon's boeuf bourguignon for dummies

You take two bottles of tasty red wine, any 3€-bottle from Côtes du Rhône would do the trick.

Marinate 1kg of beef cut in pieces large like your thumb during the night, with 4 chopped onions, thyme and pepper.

The next day, you put the meat out, put it in a huge cooking pot and cook it alone for 10 minutes. Then you add 1.5kg of carrots, chopped in little bits. Put a cover on the pot and let that cook at a high temperature for 20 minutes. After that, you add some bacon that you grilled on the side, and the marinade that you left the meat on for the night.

You cook that for X hours (the more the better), at medium-low temperature, pot still covered. If the wine level gets too low, add more wine.

1h before serving, add chopped Parisian mushrooms.

When you are about to serve it, removed the cover and let the "sauce" thicken. If it doesn't thicken enough add one spoon of flour.

The things I eat the most
>pasta with homemade sauce
>rice with chicken curry or tuna/tomato/spices
>homemade ratatouille + rice or couscous
>omelets with all kinds of stuff in it
>chicken breast + canned french beans if I want something light
I usually have some kind of salad before eating the main course (also bread and cheese while I'm cooking because I'm hungry)

I like to cook so I eat a lot of different stuff but these are basically my staple meals when I don't know what to do or don't have too much time.
>>
>>59068612
My staple dish is a quiche.

It's easy, you can put everything you want in it and you can bring it everywhere.
