After living in Europe for a while I moved back to New Zealand recently. It feels like I've escaped from a burning continent.

I was living in Amsterdam, and over a short period of time I saw the rapid decline of not only Amsterdam itself, but also the Mediterranean countries that are buckling under unemployment and the rapid influx of migrants. Most of the cities in Europe don't have a social identity anymore, the only thing they can hold on to is their history as they fear the future.
