It's not a bad game but the battle system is really bad when compared to Shogun 2. Plus, managing all the officers and towns later into the game can be a real mess. It reminds me of civ 3 in the sense that's it's too detailed to work on a larger scale. I like the soundtrack though, even if it gets repetitive.

Town development takes way too long considering how little variation it actually has. The game works best when you've got a few castles, maybe a dozen at most since in that situation you can still manage things without it becoming too tedious. I love the system of individual officers and how their abilities affect battles but I wish there was a better way to manage things and a robust battle system. The only reason I ever fight the battles myself is because not doing so makes the battles last so long they just turn into attrition. I still had fun becoming shogun after starting with a custom clan that had a single fort. The events you get are nice too, but the translation seems a bit off at times.
