I live in California. The US is the place to be if you prioritize the potential for high earnings and accumulation of wealth. However, we are lacking in culture. From my time in Europe, I just love the general refinement of the region (more quality cuisine, fashion styles, architecture, etc) and the more laid back lifestyle. I would say Switzerland is the most beautiful country I've ever visited.

Going to study in Salamanca for a year, then see about getting a permanent seat in a university. I've been told Americans have the best chance of any international student.
My plan is to avoid the botellóns and learn the language from a group of friends I can go to bars with.
If I can get a permanent spot as a student I can finance my own apartment and possibly emigrate.
