I know a guy who manages heavy machinery up there for airforce bases and scientific expeditions. They're actually doing some neat shit up there like building nutrino detector telescopes, studying Cambrian fossils found in exposed shale, and taking core samples/ studying glacier movements to measure climate changes
also a whole lot of drinking
