that's another issue. i'm a big fan of the atmel micros ranging from the tiniest tiny to xmegas to the really large ones with integrated can modules etc. BUT atmel is now owned by PIC and i'm not sure if PIC is very interested in keeping the atmel line alive, i mean, they sort of let the public know they will keep manufacturing the atmel core micros, but in the long run... i have a bad feeling about it

also, afaik, the highly apreciated Atmel Studio is now just lingering on in halt state (the devs get payed for sitting on their ass and playing pingpong) and probably gonna get ditched in favor of PICs utterly shite development environment so that's another big fucking NO :D
as i see it, there's a couple of options:
1) leave them vanilla, possibly with a bootloader option
2) build a software stack kind of like what the *duino guys did
3) hybrid approach, kind of like what is used on industrial controllers, proprietary dev software, but with full access down to assembly linkage and high level C or C-like syntax language
idk, this is still very vague and needs a lot of thought, what do you think?

it's not that bad. i'm too much of a pussy to kill myself. have tried several times in the past though. i'm realized i'm an idiot the last time i attempted suicide when i finally ended up in the hospital because of dehydration and half of my body being numb. it felt really uncomfortable but the worst part was my mother seeing that and that she had to live through that.
now im pretty much just emotionally and mentally unstable hearing and seeing shit. i can't even be around masses for too long because i'll end up hearing people's voices every night on and on.

i quit taking medication because it made my situation worse. been on several medication, from antidepressants to antipsychotics. the recent medication i was taking made me hard to focus and sitting still uncomfortable and a lot of different things that bothered me. if i remember correctly, it made me more emotionally unstable too.
