Some Catholics hate him because he's too soft, which is ironic considering the whole forgiveness thing.
Even had some people up in arms because he bantered some atheists saying they would, too, go to heaven and it apparently meant now everyone was free to sin as they pleased because there was no moral compass anymore and the only thing stopping them from commiting crime was eternal damnation, not the repercussions they would face or even at a more basic level, their inherent sense of morality.
I just think that no matter what he says, there will be people complaining about it, and that's terrible.

I think he is a well needed breath of fresh air.
I appreciate his messages of charity and also his diplomatic work.
His actions are greatly misunderstood by Catholics of 4chan.
I do not approve of what he does but it will bear good fruit. I think he makes a smart move by being very progressive and liberal because its attracting more and more young people back to Christianism, or at least making fedoras respect Christianism in a way or another.
Religions have always adapted themselves troughout history, those that did not fit the demands of the prayers ended up destroyed, the ones that did not appeal to the people's culture at the time, were replaced. Look at Rome, look at zoroatranism, look at native American religions, and so on.
Not only that, what if in the future these young ones who are changing their opinions to be more favorable of catholics because of francis, when grow up and marry, will finally accept true catholicism, leaving degeneracy behind?
