Well, the Netherlands is actually a beacon of right-wingness in the left-wing cesspool that is called Western-Europe. The (economically) rightwing and leftwing of our countries is pretty similar.
But for Dutch politics, Geert is centre/centre-left. Most of his economic policies include lots of welfare for the elderly, and increasing the welfare state in general.
ATM we have a rightwing party leading us, but the party is socially liberal, so we do have refugees etc.
And Geert is pretty populist, yeah. But we have a lot of populist parties. It gets him a lot of votes but also created this stigma of dumb people voting for him.
He is leading all the polls right now, will be funny to see how this will turn out.
