No, Chinese smuggle fentanyl through Vancouver. Cheaper and more effective. Also easier to OD on. BC (4 million people) has had 200 ODs so far in 2016.
>>
Why do Americans like Heroin so much? I watched the news recently and apparently NJ has more OD deaths than any other country on Earth

Anyone could tell they're on something by the sight of most of them. It seems they've passed it onto their teenager son and his girlfriend too. It's sad.

Yeah I live in a shit neighbourhood, I believe I'm amongst a network of hard drug users and dealers. Lots of seedy activity amongst other incidents. (One literally broke into our house and stole a laptop)

>Since Canada signed on to NAFTA, Ontario has lost hundreds of thousands of good manufacturing jobs. Those jobs went to States in the U.S. where unions are made weak by legislation, and to Mexico where unions are made weak by free trade zones where union rights are virtually nonexistent.

http://nupge.ca/content/4827/if-free-trade-so-good-why-are-things-so-bad

>Job losses and labour "flexibility": In describing its "success," NAFTA boosters credit the
agreement with increasing employment and prosperity in all three countries. Admittedly,
during NAFTA's first nine years, employment in Canada grew by 19%, representing a gain of
2.7 million new jobs. But fewer than half these new jobs were full-time. And this apparently
rosy period of Canadian job gains under NAFTA should be set against the prior six-year
period of heavy job losses under CUFTA. Between 1988 and 1994, Canada lost 334,000
manufacturing jobs, equivalent to 17% of total manufacturing employment in the year
before CUFTA came into effect. Canada's official unemployment rate rose from an average
of 7.8% in 1988-90 to 11% during 1991-93.

>Social programs: Canada's business élite has consistently argued that, for Canada to be
competitive in NAFTA, its social programs would have to be cut to match the generally
inferior U.S. levels.
http://www.policyalternatives.ca/sites/default/files/uploads/publications/National_Office_Pubs/lessons_from_nafta.pdf

NAFTA is a big deal.

Another thing is that Canada has the Dutch disease. Previously, high oil prices were compensated by subsidies from natural resource sector to manufacturing and low oil prices by subsidies to oil. Now with 'free trade' and 'free markets', Canada abandoned the model and the rich manufacturing province of Ontario got fucked.

NAFTA took the blue collar jobs
people have no jobs therefore they do drugs

idle hands are the devil's workshop
>>

It's a similar deal with every free trade agreement, it fucks over the general population in both countries, but less so in the country that gets the jobs. Businesses have a curious way of flowing into places where the laws allow for dubious shit to take place and/or the workforce is really cheap and pretty much equivalent to slave labour.
>>
>>58797894
>it fucks over the general population in both countries
NAFTA has 3 countries.
The only people benefiting are business owners & mexico.

>also, a free trade agreement with a thirdworld country is fucking retarded

Yep. Never go free trade. At most SLOWLY over decades make trade freeer with these nations. Keyword: slow.
>>
>>58797923
Well Mexico really doesn't benefit either if you look at their normie guys who push shit out. Their factories are really bad and if the work force demands better facilities or pay, the business kicks them out or bribes the government to deal with the strike. Free trade agreements are always in the interest of business owners, because you get more stuff for less. It isn't so for a normal middle class person. The businesses know it, the governments know it and multinational organizations know it so that is why the new trade agreements like TPP and TPIP were conjured up behind closed doors.

http://www.commondreams.org/views/2014/01/10/after-20-years-nafta-leaves-mexicos-economy-ruins

Why do you think Mexicans are moving to America in huge masses? NAFTA destroyed their country and they struggle to survive. Mexico got hit ten times worse than the US.

Mexico does not benefit from NAFTA. NAFTA killed their domestic agricultural and industrial bases by flooding it with US products. If you think that the influx of automotive and electronics manufacturing into Mexico is a net positive you're wrong too.

Mexico between 1970 and 1990 had laws requiring manufacturers to open factories in Mexico and manufacture at least 50,000 units (for automobiles), 250,000 units (for appliances like refrigerators, dryers), 500,000 units (for electronics) per year in Mexico if they wanted to sell their products in Mexico.

Products manufactured in Mexico remained in Mexico and weren't exported thus keeping Mexicans employed and keeping foreign firms from simply overwhelming Mexican domestic firms through economies of scale. If companies did not manufacture in Mexico, they were faced with a 50%-100% import tariff. This worked. It created a lot of industry in Mexico over a short period and the tariffs were used by the Mexican government to fund education and training programs so that Mexican workers and engineers could develop their own domestic industries. China presently has similar laws which benefited them greatly, and the US has similar laws over our truck industry which have lead to the US being the leading truck producer.

Other laws barred the importation of agricultural products into Mexico so foreign firms could not sell food in Mexico. This kept Mexican farmers profitably emploed. When NAFTA came into effect, Mexican industry was devastated by American imports and firms no longer had to hire Mexicans to build their products in Mexico for Mexican consumers. Fast forward to present day. Now US firms export jobs and car factories to Mexico where they pay workers just $4 per hour, thus screwing over American workers. These non-Mexican firms don't care if Mexican workers live well so they rarely ever raise their pay beyond bare minimum and Mexican domestic industry is still decimated.
