Europe is too diverse for this.
Nationalism is only since the 18th century.
But ever since the creation of man people have always had an altruistic way of following others, they always followed their tribe and belonged to that tribe.
In the middle ages they followed their Count/Duke.
In the 18th century they followed their nation.
But nationalism isn't dead yet, we will just have to wait until nationalism get's replaced by pan-Germanicism (in my case), or even pan-Europaism.

From a federal standpoint expanding the EU at this stage was dumb as fuck too. A Franco-German-Italian-British union would be a fuckload easier than including a bunch of eastern European countries, Greece, etc.
I don't see how else the Eurozone could continue to survive without political unification. Kind of hard to share a currency when everybody gets to set their own economic agenda

Bullshit. Europe today isn't even as diverse as "Germany" was in beginning of the 19th century. The way of life, our dreams and values are mostly the same in all of (Western-)Europe.
It just needs some Prussian discipline and could possibly end up in two World Wars, but it's definitely not impossible.

There's no feasible way it could ever happen. The U.S. barely survived in the first place and they were just rich white anglos. It'd be pretty cool tho and definitely superior to the EU we have now.
