Why are Danes, Swedes and Norwegian actors so terrible at American/British accents? Do those people just not recognise they sound completely wrong? I doubt there's a single one on this board that can convincingly speak like a normal person
They're not trying to sound English or American. People genuinely speak like that here.
2bh I've heard Norwegian and Swedish people that sound almost exactly like Americans until they fuck up a certain word
>Americans can mimic every accent on the planet
>non-Americans struggle to even sound legible

Like your the one to talk.

Name one. (that wasn't casted to play a foreigner or Russian)
Alexander Skarsgård and Alicia Vikander are both young and have played Americans. What is wrong with their accents?

Australians are famously good at doing American and British accents. It's probably why we have so many in Hollywood

example of an Australian actor playing a Norse character

Skarsgård has an incredible American accent Tbh

Honestly couldn't think of a single time I've heard that attempted. I just assumed they're worse since they generally have strong accents

I'd post that example from Vikings, but I can't find any. Also no one else except other finns seems to notice it.

The accents on Vikings are so bizarre, I don't even know what they're attempting to do. Because they're consistently inconsistent it means badly done accents aren't even noticeable

Maybe make it sound like it was an older version of the language (English in this case) that everyone's speaking today, perhaps?
