What the fuck?

Do Europeans actually live on those windowed things on the left?

Is my entire life a lie?
>>
>>58402508
You call it house. Are you living in a cave?
>>
yea here only poor uneducated immigrants that came over 2 years ago live in those sardine boxes, in Europe you can find a doctor living in them

literally unbelievable.
>>
im kind of jelly of europeans. i've always wanted to live in a dense, walkable city without cars everywhere and everything is close together. i hate how spread out and impersonal everything is here, i hate having to drive everywhere. most european cities seem like a fantasy land to me. we have dense cities like new york and san francisco but they're still car-based and not as walkable.

All the big Euro cities I have been too have ridiculous traffic as well

It is not and you know it. You could fit some 3 to 4 counties in belgium.

Terrace housing ain't that bad, It stems from Renaissance i think.. After WW2 in Britain tough loads of terrace housing (not nice looking ones) were built in inner cities for the poor or someshit.
>>
>>58403249
Have you ever been to a city in your life, let alone New York and San Francisco?

You can live without a car if you're in a city center. Some people in New Orleans do it.
>>
>>58405818
Yeah, nah. You guys fucked up your architecture real bad during the industrial revolution. British cities look like something straight out of a nuclear fallout. Gray, gray more gray, bricks and concrete, lots of graffitis, factories, punks wearing gasmasks, not a green patch anywhere.
Then you have those disguting houses where they built them into each other, like an entire street, all identical and sharing walls, they don't even have gardens, just cars parked out front, since they have no garages. It's like American Suburbia, if it was quarter the size, designed by a deranged madman, sold for insane prices that cost two arms and a leg.
>>
>>58405935

saw so many comfy pics of new orleans, then i went there thinking it would be great

>90 degrees
>so humid i was wet walking outside
>degenerates everywhere
>some guy praising god holding 5 signs
>black trannies

filthy.
>>
Literally everything about American arcitecture and urban planning is horrible. No one has a sense of aesthetics or culture. It's better than eastern European commie cities tho.
>>
>>58405976
Yeah industrial revolution was good for everything else though.

And most terrace housing will have a small narrow garden, the ones in big cities like London maybe not.

Tbh we were never known for our architecture in general, just the few odd palaces and castles. Nothing like the small cosy picturesque villages and towns you seen in Europe.

>our best is better than their absolute worst

man that's terrible

Those might have been my comfy pics, haha. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. I personally like the heat and humidity; it makes it even more satisfying when you walk into the air conditioning. Degeneracy, black trannies, queers and str8ies and those who protest it all pooling together in the true gutter of Western civilization and American decadence that is Bourbon Street are what makes New Orleans what it is! If you don't like that, well, I don't know what to tell you. But there's always Royal St., the Garden District, Uptown, and City Park if you're looking for something a little more bougie.

San Bernardino County, California- 52,071 sq. km.
Nederland- 41,543 sq. km.

Around 25% larger than the entire country

Doesn't Amazonas have some similarly massive municipalities?
>>
>>58406066
>Literally everything about American arcitecture and urban planning is horrible. No one has a sense of aesthetics or culture.

Then how about you be the first to build one of these 'cultured' homes. You shouldn't complain about something if you're making no effort to change it for the better.
>>
>>58406105
>Yeah industrial revolution was good for everything else though.

Dubious claims are dubious. Certain parts of it were good, others made concentration camps look inviting. I'm not even going to go into child labor, corporate abuse, chemical pollution, etc. But did you ever stop to think that the Industrial revolution was responsible for the beginning of Global warming? Because of those greedy fucks, we're the ones who are suffering.

>Tbh we were never known for our architecture in general, just the few odd palaces and castles. Nothing like the small cosy picturesque villages and towns you seen in Europe.
It's not all bad. Could be turned around still, building nice, livable cities. But sadly Britain seems very determined to follow the U.S in everything nowadays. So that means suburbia, high rises, and corporate worship.

That's absolute horse shit, though. I don't have to be a world-renowned chef to know when food tastes like shit, why do I need to be an architect to know that houses look boring and uninspired?

If your food tastes like poo, you find food that tastes less like poo. Idly complaining about your town being uncultured and poorly planned isn't going to solve anything, you'd be better moving somewhere that you think has a better sense of urban development.

It's just a case of the grass being greener across the lawn anyways 2bh. The original anon would probably complain about the same shit if he lived in another country.

What's wrong with complaining? Complaints are a form of criticism that a company can take into consideration and use to improve. If he doesn't like something, I see no reason why he shouldn't be allowed to complain.

supermarket if you're lucky will bake decent fresh bread

I don't have anything against complaining, anon. It's complaining about something being somehow worse than something else and doing nothing about it that triggers my autism.

Your country is REALLY bicyclist friendly. I'm honestly jealous. Anytime I get on my bike I'm basically playing an extended game of chicken with cars/pedestrians.
>>
>>58407176
Be prepared to have your hopes and dreams crushed when you get to the section about "Practicality and Profit"
>>
>>58407264
to be fair cyclists (in North America at least) are generally fucking scum, and I say this despite being a cyclist myself (one of the only cyclists who actually obeys the rules and shows any form of courtesy to pedestrians, let alone vehicles).
>>
>>58407347

I agree. So many cyclists think they're above the law and just run reds and cut lanes all the time.

Or drive in the left lane like a retard. Or not wear helmets
>>
>>58405889
You need a car outside of Manhattan. Good luck being car free if you live in Staten Island.
>>
>>58404025
Too bad 90% of Texas is inhospitable due to oil spills and fracking
>>
>>58407320
That's the down side to a capitalistic and consumerist society. Culture revolves around materials rather than aesthetics. No one cares about the arts. Songs are recycled and made to sell. Artists become lazy to make what sells. Buildings are made to be "practical" and "efficient" rather than appealing. There's no aesthetic, or superficialness. Are you really living the life in the suburbs if all see when you look out your window is other houses that look exactly like yours. You go for a walk and see more of the same exact house. The only escape is to get in your car and go see the wilderness. Rant over sorry

>>58408111
You don't have to walk far to get anywhere if you're already in Manhattan and, if you do, you just hail a cab.
>>

>>
>>58408308
