Heh, got a great grandmother here with Austria-Hungary → Italy → Yugoslavia → Croatia in the same village. Hard to get more than four countries.
Most of Croatia did went through a change of Austria-Hungary → State of SHS (unrecognised state, though) → Kingdom of Yugoslavia → Independent State of Croatia (Nazi ally) → Socialist Yugoslavia → Croatia

It's the same in Canada. "Why is everybody by America?" Maybe because that's the only hospitable land, and even then it's usually Winter for half the year or more. The rest is barren tundra with no resources.

Does anyone else remember when Crimea was an independent country for one day? There was a short time in between seceding from Ukraine and joining Russia.
