How liberal is your country towards alcohol?
Should it be more or less liberal?

Here, society is totally liberal, but there's many regulations for producers.

For instance the licenses for producing hard alcoholics aren't given out by the government, but can only be sold (if someone is willing to sell his license), therefore the numer of alcohol manufacturies can hardly grow.

On the other hand at my university beer is sold at the canteen and in vending machines in the hallways. Would you be surprised if you saw this at a uni in your country?
I find it great, alcohol is a true cultural enrichment.

Mine has both

What's up Lightweight?

California is pretty liberal in a sense that we have a low liquor tax. The state doesn't control the distribution like some states. You can't buy liquor past 2 AM. You need a licenses to sell beer and wine and a separate license to sell liquor. There's not laws against homebrewing beer. There's a still tax, but that's a federal thing. They even fought over it. It's called the Whiskey Rebellion.

bans work in russia?
>>
>>58373092

I thought it was pretty liberal, but actually alcohol can't be sold here 100m or nearer to any educational institution and sometimes before important events (like voting days), alcohol sale is forbidden.
But surely the restrictions for producers aren't that bad.

Yes, no one sale it at nighttime and morning. But there no any word about bottle rent

Why is being a lightweight a bad thing? It means you spend less money and do less damage to your body.
>>
>>58373418
We have this in some states.

>>58374451
In one state. Between 22:00 and 5:00

Depends on your state and probably municipality or county. The grocery stores and Target here all have beer, wine, and liquor sections, including small selections of craft beer. Prices are usually cheaper than the average liquor store too.

Wayyyy les liberal
I welcome Shira law as it would cure the %40 of the population with fetal alcohol syndrome

>%40 of the population with fetal alcohol syndrome
i-is that real or just a meem
>>
>>58373092
Alcohol is expensive (kinda cuz Erdoğan), you need a license to sell or serve it. Selling them at universities is not allowed since 2008 or sth.
Pork is hard to find and expensive.

Alcohol prices should be affordable enough to lower drug use. The higher the alcohol prices, the higher the tendency to use cheap shit drugs on the streets. We already have the chemical drug "bonzai" problem.

The price and availability of pork is just natural in a muslim majority country. I buy them from an Armenian butcher.

?
>>
>>58373092
Not so liberal like in germany but still liberal. We cannot buy alcohol in university or drink on the street.
>>
>>58373343
All pubs close at 9:00, though.
>>
>>58375660
An unhealthy dangerous alternative to marijuana. People use it because it's cheap. Although high alcohol prices might not be the only parameter, it sure has a strong effect to this.

Cheating the law. Like: its not sale its juste rent!

Pretty much comparable to western ones. No selling to minors, no drinking on the street, and can't sell after 10pm.

>>

Hang on, no alcohol at the work party? For what reason? Ok, no drinking during a work day is understandable (though I enjoy a beer or wine with lunch) but on a work party?

Why, Hans?
>>
>>58379751
Having a drink at lunch is actually protected under the law in my state. I find it weird Germany wouldn't allow it.
>>
>>58379884

Strange, I always took you yanks as pretty tight on your alcohol laws what with the ridiculous 21 age minimum
>>
>>58379960
Depends on the state. I personally like the drinking age here. Everyone drives and I don't see a reason to have more inexperienced drinkers and drivers on the road.
>>
>>58379751
wtf m8
>>
>>58380079
that's a fair point but it could be argued that at any age you go a touch over the top when you're first allowed to buy your own alcohol and that it doesn't matter what your experience or age is, you shouldn't drink and drive full stop.
>>
>>58379817

no idea actually whether it bases on legal grounds but we've recently been warned by our managers to be extremely careful from now on

my nigger please, even migros sells pork, although it is true that pork is expensive, but then again red meat is also very expensive

please tell me this isn't happening frequently ;_; i'm moving to germany and I love a drink
>>
>>58380292

what would that be? If i can ask

sorry mate, I prefer to remain anon by all means but let me tell you it's got over 20k employees so go figure
>>
>>58380575

I understand, no problem m8

In the city I live in, there's been a law that prevents stores to sell alcohol after 8pm.
Too much trouble with underage drinking in the streets as they were not allowed in bars and clubs.
Young people drinking too much is a real issue there.
>>
>>58379960
>ridiculous 21 age minimum
it is ridiculous but it's not followed

>>58380715

Sounds Scandi tier suppression

so why keep up the facade?
