>Hey ruskiebro, are the people out there nice?
Hey, ameribro. Nah, not really. I imagine americans are much more open and friendly.
>>58357871
That's a shame. I'd love to visit Russia one day. I'm sure it's just the standard European personal distance/space thing.

do random americans skeak to you at the subway
if /int/ told me something than its they do that shit
>dat 50 seconds wait for image reply
And people call Russia a shithole.
Boy how do i wish i could do the same in here without getting robbed or stumbling upon a mob of junkies scrabbling trash bags in search of stuff to sell. Not to mention most places are filled with garbage and smell like ass
>>58357388
I like these threads.
>>58357937
In places where there are subways probably not
Maybe people from places without subways travel they do

Moskva-River.
>>58357937
>do random americans skeak to you at the subway
Speak?* Russians do that too at the public transport. I haven't met many americans IRL for some weird reason, depsite the fact that I travel a lot. Met more Aussies then Americans even.
>>58357975
Me too. I miss the threads where anons would show us around their towns. It's really cool to see.

Hey Russianbro, I'm writing a paper on the Bogatyri. Just wondering if that word has any relevance in Russia still.
>>58358252

Some rad dudes made of wood.
>>58358093
It's just the people's mentality, very fear mongering and xenophobic. It's good on one hand, to stay somewhat uncucked by cultutral marxism and progressivness but also bad because people don't want to integrate fully into western european values and life-style. Which is the best one on the planet. Look at that statue. Russians, all memes aside are europeans. But few decades of brainwashing by soviets surely had it's toll.
>>58358260
Russians get up very late, streets on 6-9AM are mostly empty if it's not transportation hubs where people are going for work and study.

>>58358276
Hey, ameribro. It's used to describe physicaly strong young men. It's somewhat outdated, used more jokingly, but still has a very positive connotation.
>>58358330
That is really neat. You guys seem to have a strong cultural identity in that sense
>>58358337
>>58358337
>Like knights for you.
I know. I was just wondering if it's still a apart of Russian folklore. Slavic folklore is not known about at all here.
>>58358397
Hey, ameribro. It's used to describe physicaly strong young men. It's somewhat outdated, used more jokingly, but still has a very positive connotation.
But in the historical context, it's correct to call knights of Slavic myth "Bogatyri", right?
I'm writing a paper that compares modern acts of heroism to old mythologies. One of the ones I focused on was the Chernobyl Divers, and I called them Bogatyri.
The weather is really georgeous today. Sadly I am not that sporty as OP.

Yes, people love to call some war heroes and such bogatyri. Especially on TV and papers.
>>58358421
>But in the historical context, it's correct to call knights of Slavic myth "Bogatyri", right?
Bogatyri is a broader term, used to desribe anyone of strong stature, used more in fairytales. The word you're looking for are "Druzhinniki".
>>58358447

>>58358433

>>58358479
Neat!
>>58358496
>used more in fairytales
No, that's perfect. I'm trying to connect it to fairytale and folklore.
Thank you both
The pretty stuff has ended, the city begins.

>>58358524
As I know suburbs are copy pasted too, those are all privately built housed with unique projects that were built during 20 years and more.

not by definition, but the trend has being going that way. In older suburbs from I guess around the 80s and earlier the houses tend to be unique.
