I am going to speak to a recruiter to inquire about joining the Canadian Forces soon and I want to hear about people experience in their country and hardest things they had to get accustomed to.

I tried to join the British army once, the recruiter asked me if I knew how to clean my knob and told me lads who couldn't clean their knobs got pulled up in front of everyone and made to properly clean their tally-wackers while everyone watched.

The most important thing after you decide if you want to go in, is picking the right job for you.
You can work in an office, be a mechanic, supply clerk, or infantry.
Saying you want to be in the military is about as generic as saying you want to be a civilian.

It defines you, it determines what you do every day, what training you get, who you do it with, and possibly where you are stationed.
You probably have to take an aptitude test to see what you can qualify for. Maybe do this first, then research the jobs that you can do, and decide later.

Sure, that sucked when actually doing it, but when i look back at it now, im happy that i went trough it. But in my opinion while i liked shooting guns and blowing shit up, its the people i served with that made it fun 12 months. Meetin up with those people every now and then and just talking shit is really fun.

It wasn't difficult for me. For some people it involves a lot more paperwork because they need a waiver for drug use, criminal record, or a medical condition.
Boot Camp itself wasn't hard for me either, but was for some people, especially those straight out of highschool who have never been away from home before and never had any responsibilities.
