Here is that poem:
https://vimeo.com/162455052
>Sod-dumb, cowardly and hesitant/ Is Erdogan the President/ His boner smells like Döner/ Even a pig's fart smells finer/ He's the man who punches girls/ while wearing a bloody rubber mask/ Things he loves the most/ is shagging goats/ and oppressing minorities/ Kicking Kurds, beating up Christians/ while watching child porn/ And in the evening instead of a nap/ Fellatio with a hundred sheep/ Erdogan is all things considered/ a President with a tiny wang.
Every Turk can be heard whispering:/ This dumb pig has got shrivel-balls/ From Ankara to Istanbul/ Everyone knows this man is gay/ perverted and zoophil/ Recep Fritzl Priklopil/ His head as empty as his balls/ the star guest on every gang-bang party/ until his tiny wang starts to burn while having a piss/ That's Reccep Erdogan

There were plans to change it before the case came up, I think it's meant to come in place in 2017/2018.

The fact that they're going through the prosecution for a fucking law they're going to get rid of is ridiculous. Shows much power Turks have over Merkel, pathetic.

Yes I do. He's part of the political correctness police that's running rampant in this country, and is probably supportive of "hate-speech" laws as well (as long as it doesn't target the wrong people), himself hiding behind the shield of "satire", which apparently gives him permission to just hurl insults at specific individuals. I'd like to see someone do what he did, but instead direct it at muslims or refugees in general, see how many years that person will spent in prison.
The fact that people argue with freedom of speech in his case, when just a couple of weeks ago some drunk guy got a 7 month jail sentence because he said that Hitler is his idol is absolutely pathetic.
Nevermind that at worst, he'll get a slight slap on the wrist.
>>
>>58276309
He can have what ever fokken political views. no? That's not the point.
If your government initiates an investigation on him, solely at the behest of a foreign government because he miffed them, that is truly sad.
But I suppose freedom of speech has been dead in Europe for a long time. Take holocaust denial, or even having a different opinion than the "official" version. . .
>>
>>58275911
This triggers turks
>>
>>58276549
>at muslims or refugees in general, see how many years that person
(I think you mean "prison")
Are you fokken serious? ? ?
You get thrown in jail just for insulting people? Or for hurting their feelings?
I really can't understand.

Even in my country, libel is a crime. However, I do not have to shield my opinion just because it may offend someone.
>>
>>58276549
Well don't you have actual different laws regarding Hitler or something?
For instance if he said Mussolini instead of Hitler would he still be jailed?
>>
>>58276571
Of course it is sad.
Still, if it hurts the right people and weakens Merkel even further it feels a bit better.
>>
>>58276193
Has he broken any German law?
Is there a law not to be offensive to foreign heads of state, etc?
In Japan, we have a silly law: it is illegal to deface the flag of a foreign country. Otherwise, we can say anything we want.
>>
>>58276571
It's a good thing that it's finally hitting the right people then.

>He can have what ever fokken political views. no?
Not when his political views are extremely anti free speech, and he'd be first in line to prosecute people who did the same thing he did, but directed it at a general group of people.

>that is truly sad
I'm past being sad for this country, it's like some kind of twisted, bizarro world comedy where you can only stay sane by laughing at the sheer ridicule of it.

>>58276770
>You get thrown in jail just for insulting people? Or for hurting their feelings?
When it's the wrong (or right) people you're speaking against, you can be damn sure.

>>58276847
The laws in this country mean jack shit anyway. Our judical system is a joke, some Turks who were racing in the streets and killed a woman on a bike got off on probation.

>>58277030

So are you saying he's some kind of bigot?
Sorry I don't know anything about this guy or German politics, but this guy reading an offensive poem against Ero-Gan seems the las person I would suspect of wanting to prosecute people for merely expressing their views?

>When it's the wrong (or right) people you're speaking against, you can be damn sure.
If you know, I would be very gracious to know what the law is there. I can't believe a person should have criminal accountability just because someone got their feelings hurt. (In my country, just say sorry (for hurting your feelings, not for what I said) and it's over.)

>Yes, literally.
Probably from the occupation times; same as us. I'm glad our law is only for flags.
>>
>>58275558
Turkish president Erdogan got offended by a song of him about the freedom of press in turkey.

then the comedian, Böhmermann responded with a "Poem" directed at Erdogan were he called him a Goatfucker.

He was probably thinking he lives in a free country. Now Merkel is supporting Erdogan because the fucker keeps the refugees at bay.

Sorry, Guenter.
By "content," I mean accepting the situation. That's all. Pardon for bad English (?)
But at the same time, this is not a new thing, no? Lots of people have been sent to prison in Europe for having a different opinion (about the Jews) for several tens of years now. I think this is acceptable fact. And everyone was just as "content" to see that then. . .

I'm not trying to defend perverts. But I don't think it's the place of the State to tell a man what he can or cannot say. That's all.

Merkel knows this and the process is an attempt to both satisfy Erdogan. She has made a deal with him about the refugeesituations and she wants him to do his part. But there is no legal way for Erdogan to triumph in this case.

Actually he even stated himself that what he was going to say is considered a crime. So charging him is not unlawful per se.
But what matters is the position our government is taking. Even though what he said was just a huge insult, our government once again shows what spineless opportunists they really are.

It's really pathetic they'll let a cockroach harass a German citizen for no good reason. He should try suing the government once things settle down.
>>
>>58275398
Everyone in this thread is a fucking retard.

1. This law is from a time where insulting another country's head of state was enough cause to declare war. Look at how the Franco-Prussian war was started: the media mistranslated a word and the French got so insulted that they went out on the streets and demanded war against the Prussians. People against the war were branded traitors and called Prussian spies.

2. Before a person can be prosecuted for insulting a head of state the German government needs to give permission. Saying no would mean Merkel interferes in the area that is outside of hers. She is the executive branch and this law is the judicial branch. Allowing prosecution means that she does what Erdogan wants (which he is in his full right to demand because of Germany's laws) and so long as Böhmermann and his lawyers keep fighting against the verdict it will end up at the German supreme court which will declare the war unconstitutional because of free speech.
