Why is St Petersburg not Leningrad anymore, but Kaliningrad kept its commie name?
Saint Petersburg actually voted for the name change
Are you really that bad from history and with rational thinking?
Might be because pre commie times Leningrad had a proper russian name and Kaliningrad had a german one so there is nothing "not commie" to come back to.

but if they made up a new name then it should be easier to do it again if anything
KALINKA KALINKA KALINKA MOÏA !
V SADOU IAGODA MALINKA MALINKA MOÏA !
some people in Kaliningrad want to get the German name back
also this april is the 70 years of Kaliningrad oblast

Because everyone know who was Lenin, but nobody knows who was Kalinin. I'm sure most of Russians think Kaliningrad is just a random name, chosen because it's a little bit similar to Kenigsberg.

Because they have to give it a name that makes tourists remember that it was a cultural icon before it drowned in gommieblock housing.
the real question is why it isn't called petrograd and why isn't it the russian capital since it's by far the most livable city in ruskieland even if it's built on rightfully finnish clay

Petterigorsk is rightfully Finnish. It was the capital of the first Finnish Empire.

>but Kaliningrad kept its commie name?
because then it would have to be either polish Królewiec or german Konigsberg and I'm fairly certain no Russian would think that such change makes sense
