Las Vegas is literally hell on earth. There's a good reason Nevada gets all of our nuclear waste. NYC is fun to see once. California is okay if you like Mexicans and beaches. These all sound like the typical destinations for people who don't know much about the US. Personally, I think the northwest has some of our best states, but if you like beaches, Florida has some nice ones too.

Don't listen to all the flyover cucks who tell you to visit stuff outside of the coasts. I live in the San Francisco area, lived in NYC, and lived in inland states. There is no real reason to go inland, even though losers will try to meme you. The only thing those states have to offer is you is meme towns like Jackson Hole, Park City, or Aspen. Most states don't even have anything even that interesting.
You're right to only go to CA, NYC, and Vegas. They offer the most stuff, and have some actual substance to them. You might also go to DC.

Given that a tourist would have limited time, they'd still be better off going to CA, where they have Yosemite, Sequoia, Redwood National Parks in relatively close proximity to cities you'd want to go to. Las Vegas is filled with miserable people who failed in LA/NYC. They had dreams of greatness, but now have to entertain Bogans from Australia. Also LA/NYC are awesome cities with plenty to do.
