Who would win if all corruption and cartels evaporated?

Obviously Brazil since we have plenty of resources while Mexico is a shitty badland.

They will when they annex California.

Mexico because they have bigger industry and export almost two times more than Brazil.

Well you both have similar amounts of oil (idk why the list and the picture seem to show much different results...), and Mexico has a fair amount of natural resources too. Honestly it's pretty much a toss up and comes down to political and economic policies. Like Mexico might have an advantage in manufacturing because they're closer to the US so it's cheaper for us to outsource to there given that wages are equal between Mexico and Brazil.

There is your problem. /pol/tards are retarded.

We sort of have that here too, but between Brazil and Paraguay instead of the US and Mexico. Basically, Paraguayans are very cheap labour whose government has economically liberal policies while we're still protectionist as fuck, both with goods imported and goods produced here. In the end, it's more lucrative to produce the goods in Paraguay and export them back to Brazil. The main difference, of course, is that the Paraguayan labour avalible is much smaller than the Mexican labour avalible.

Brazil will have the worlds 5th largest economy by 2050 Mexico the 6th.
Just as long as you guys don't self implode you'll be alright.

I love these predictions. They're so optimistic.

I'd rather live under a world ruled by India rather than China.
Perhaps we can exploit their new rivalry to our advantage.

Ah, you're right it seems. It's PPP though, not real GDP. Not sure how much of a difference it makes.

Mexico is bad for inequality as well.

At least Brazil doesn't have cartels in control of 4 states... Right?

The only reason we don't is because our criminal organizations are all divided and always fighting against each other.

If they all united, they could control everything.
>>
>>58154052
Me too. Despite what people in this site claim, Indians are usually good hearted and honest people. And their culture much more appropriate for functional human beings.
>>58154116
Wew lad, I don't know how we will pull that off. As our corrupt house speaker said: "May God have mercy on this country."

(that sentence sounds weird and im not sure that is the correct way to say it)
>>
>>58154388
I think you guys will be in top 5 by 2050. Growth should increase quickly again soon as demand for raw materials increases again. Indian economy is growing quickly and China is starting to grow again after that slump last year so demand should be high.

Economists struggle to tell us what's going to happen next year.
>>
>>58154388
>Despite what people in this site claim, Indians are usually good hearted and honest people. And their culture much more appropriate for functional human beings.

Based upon what? Every objective statistic that doesn't rely upon anecdotes and 4chan memes shows that China is a better place to live in and Chinese are better people to live with.

I live with two Chinese people in my apartment, and the guys are fine.

I've visited China 4 times and lived there for a month. It was third world at times, East asian, but functioning.

Visited India (Bijapur and Meme river) once and I hated it. I was just like the "riding a C90 through India" guy.
>>
>>58154477
years -> year
>>
>>58154417
Not really. Most of Brazil's government is functioning. Not Mexico's.

>>58154463
Perhaps. Then again a lot of them literally reject pooing in toilets.

>>58154477
Projections for China in 1980 turned out to be true.
The projection won't be perfect, but demographics are destiny in a long-term sense.

>>58154520
Brazil's problems are multifold, but higher commodities will help them.

>>58154541
This is simply bullshit. Economists are still better long-term projectors than the market. Statistical studies have shown that to be true.
Problem is, everyone is still relatively shit anyways.
>>
>>58154477
>>58154541
Of course but I think predicting 50 into the future is more accurate than predicting what it will be like next year. For example, next year we could go into a recession, but for long term models, it will follow the trend line better. Of course this is assuming no major changes like a war in the region or something that would change economies significantly.
>>
>>58154773
Exactly.

I still think 2030 projections are the best balance. 10-20 year projections are better than 30-40 and 1-5.
