How much longer will this shitshow go on?

Forever.
>>
>>58132978
When Raqquah and Mosul would be taken
>>
>>58132978
Wow is ISIS getting rekt? I remember it being much larger a few months ago.
>>
>>58137295
actually the "Free Syrian army" is part of ISIS.
>>
>>58137346
What the fuck is the free syrian army. The green blob? I thought they were """moderate""' rebels.
>>
At least another five years, probably more. Syria is the new Somalia.
>>
>ISIS getting GTFO in Iraq
>FUCKING IRAQ
I don't even know anymore.
>>
>>58137557
This is actually a big hoax.

The FSA is composed of various differents groups, most of them are actually terrorists, also most of former FSA groups turn to be into the Islamic front or some other terrorists groups.

America, UK, and France just doesn't want to admit they gives weapons and training to terrorists.

>Kurds pushing further in Syria
>That chance of forcing ISIS in a pocket in Iraq
>Deir-ez-Zor still holding out after years
>Ramadi cleared finally
>Palmyra cleared finally

Things are looking much nicer now than they were a few months ago.
>>
>>58132978
As long as the four factions keep fighting.

Once ISIS and the rebels disappear, it's going to be an Arab-Kurd fight, with the US taking neither side.
>>
>>58137346
No it isn't. Even though some of their members are Wahhabists, ISIS hates them for not joining their side.
>>
Yeah, Assad is winning luckily.
Now the Kurds are fighting the rebels too so it wont take long anymore.

Assad is the lesser evil now. The biggest rebel group is Islamic Front now, not the FSA anymore. Islamists lead the rebels now.
>>
99% of IS clay seems to be uninhabited, empty desert. If you paint all the irrelevant empty areas in white, IS doesn't have that much clay actually.
>>
>>58132978

Years, leaf. Honestly this war is extremely hard to predict, but I don't see it ending completely before 2018.

IS is getting rekt at all fronts except against the Turkm*n. They will most likely wait until the K*rds connect the cantons and Assad cuts them off of Iraq before attempting to re-take Raqqa.

There are rumors that the Lion of Damascus is planning his next offense against either Aleppo or Latakia. The final step of his master plan is cutting the rebels off of Turkey, which would bring their end.

But it will take at least two years until all of this happens. Even there, it all might end up with K*rds vs. Assad, which would prolong the conflict a lot.
>>
You think Turkey might fucked over? All the countries that allowed jihadists to enter through always end up getting BTFO like Afghanistan in the 80s or Pakistan rn
>>
>>58138063
You are correct.
About 2/3rds of the population live under Assad.
Only about 10% under ISIS.
>>
>>58137557
There are basically no moderate rebels in Syria. All of them are jihadist/islamist groups and many of them are pals with groups like Al Nusra.
>>
>>58138019
ISIS only hate the little groups of the FSA who pretends to be "rebels", most of FSA groups are Al-Nostra tier or actually on the side of ISIS.

the western medias said
>"We gives weapons to the "opposition""

the opposition is actually any groups against Bachar El-Assad, and most of them are terrorists because any groups can pretend to be the famous "opposition", the FSA is a fucking false flag.
>>
>>58138092
I don't think Assad wants to temp the West by attacking the Kurds.
>>
The only way for ISIS to get out of Iraq is if the Iraqi government works with the Iraqi Kurds. But doing so will basically guarantee Kurdish independence, which no government wants.
>>
>>58138179
*tempt
>>
>>58138179
YPG/Y is allied to Assad now, so he would be shooting himself in the foot.

Rebels really fucked up during the peace talks, basically saying they would never allow a Kurdish state.

>>58138092
Yep, Alleppo is being reinforced for an attack. Assad already control parts of the city, but the attack will come.
>>
>>58138177
But even Al-Nusra and ISIS fight each other

Maybe 3 or 4 years.
>>
>>58138340
Kind of biased saying all of Assad's supporters are Alawites. That would be saying he only has 10% of the population behind him, which would be retarded because the war would be long over by now then.

Even his wife is Sunni, he really doesn't give a shit about religion and neither do his supporters.
That is why we must prevent Islamists from getting power.
>>
>>58138338
I don't care, that doesn't change the fact that they are all fucking terrorists.

there are no moderate opposition.
>>
Forever. Peace at the crossroads of the world is bad news for the global hegemony
>>
>>58138460

>Even his wife is Sunni, he really doesn't give a shit about religion and neither do his supporters.

lmao people are THIS stupid on my board
>>
>>58137766
>>58138172
m8s I thought my post made it clear I don't believe the rebels are particularly """moderate""", but I assumed they weren't allies of ISIS either.
>>
>>58138460

>sectarian war

It's not about him declaring war on Sunnis, is about taking out Sunni extremkists.
>>
>>58138475
"They're all terrorists" is a meaningless sentiment. Even among Wahhabists, different groups have different motivations and targets.
>>
>>58138525
Yes, he has almost full support from all minority religions and a big part of the Sunni population.

And his wife is Sunni.

Are you fucking dumb?
>>
>>58138460
Even if Assad is not as tribal as some, many of his supporters oppose the rebels because they fear any kind of Sunni regime
>>
>>58138525
t. abdul
>>
>>58138666
This too, of course, but they also fear an Sunni Islamist regime.

A lot of Assad's governement staff is Alawite, which would mean they'd all lose their jobs of course.

But the normal Sunnis fear a Sunni Islamist regime too, of course, because they wouldn't be allowed to walk around without hijab like they do now, or they wouldn't be allowed to work at government positions without being an Islamist.
Or they fear sharia law.
>>
>>58138596
> Even among Wahhabists, different groups have different motivations and targets.

No Ahmed, stop trying to washing your honor, Wahhabists are the same degenerate barbarians than ISIS.
>>
>>58137557
There hasn't been a Free Syrian Army in like 3 years. Assad hammered them into the ground in order to fit his narrative that all of his enemies were terrorists. At this point 90% of them are.
>>
>>58139077
ISIS are just the most dangerous variety of Wahhabis
>>
Have the kurds reached their maximum territorial gains?? they've secured their kurdish lands but now their advancing across Arab/Sunni, can they keep it up
>>
>>58140821
The Kurds can basically expand to Aleppo. Problem is, the US won't let them do it.
>>
>>58141071
Really?
I'd think they'd support them to take over all of Syria 2bh, they seem abit more receptive to an """"""alliance"""""" with the west
>>
>>58141305
arabs being arabs will go apeshit and burn all kurds
>>
>>58141305
Two problems.

1. The Kurdish government, as socialists, will likely oppose a substantial part of the American agenda in the Middle East. Freedom and capitalism are so tightly interwoven in our foreign policy that many of our decision-makers will be horrified be the existence of any society which is expressly anti-capitalist.

2. In 2016, control of the straits is still vital. If Turkey does not remain our ally, Russia could contest American/NATO dominance of the Mediterranean. This is especially likely after the 2014 seizure of Crimea and its ports. Allowing a free Kurdistan puts this alliance into jeopardy.
>>
>>58137233
>When Raqquah and Mosul would be taken

That ends the ISIS war.

The Syrian Civil War is the main show and it has NO evidence of ever fucking ending ever.
>>
>>58132978

At a bare minimum, at least until January 20, 2017, our inauguration day, or until some cell manages to deploy a dirty bomb somewhere, whichever comes first.

If a dirty bomb should be used somewhere in, say, the next few years, Obama will go down in sober consensus-history as one of history's worst presidents, and not just according to the large political wing that dislikes him. About five years from now, it really will have been a successor's responsibility to have understood the world, to stop such a thing happening, and it starts getting harder to blame Obama. That hasn't stopped liberals from continually blaming Bush, however.

>>58132978
>Al-Qaeda destroys two towers
>invade a country that has nothing to do with it
>>
>>58137557
The real moderates got turbo fucked in 2012-2013 by Assad and Jihadist "Moderates".

Now the majority of the FSA is Jihadist. Al-Nusra is literally an official part of the FSA.
>>
>>58139122
You seem to forget that the new FSA is what killed the old FSA.

The SAA did its part, but the "moderate" jihadists were the ones who struck the killing blow.

If it was Assad then this war would have been over.
