Dear diary, I don't remember the last time I posted on here but it must have been about two months ago or maybe less I guess? Anyway, just dropping in to say that interviews have dried up during that time, I've only been to like four, I think. No job offers, obviously. And I dunno if you could really say I don't feel like either, in America people assume I'm American because I don't have an accent, and people only notice I'm not Hungarian here because I don't speak it perfectly and have some grammatical trouble sometimes. I think most of not fitting in came from me being a twat when I was younger (and still) and not being great at socializing. I will say though, it feels infinitely better shitposting with Hungarians than Americans.

Not much of a culture shock really, it was a bit different sure but I spent most of my summers growing up in a small village by Balaton and spent enough time in Budapest to be roughly familiar with it, after I got oriented to the public transport system it was pretty easy to settle in.
I suppose I noticed how my old friends are changing and how colleges in general are changing in that they're shifting much farther left, and I feel very lucky to be able to go here instead of America because of all the safe space and trigger warning BS that goes on in American colleges in recent years. Nothing against the left or the right but I hate extremism on both sides and authoritarians. So I guess tl;dr I'm happy to be somewhere where I don't have to worry about offending someone by existing.
As for the last question it really depends on who you talk to but I would say a lot of them don't. It would take a long time to list the examples I can think of, but a lot of (or at least the more vocal ones I've heard of) Americans seem to be either very for or against their country, and seem to think that they can solve other countries problems for them. And I don't just mean "lets invade iraq and afghanistan cause we're world police" either, I mean stuff like the immigrant situation and how people are so quick to brand a country as racist bigots because they don't want open borders.

I thought it was just between twitter and /v/ at first but turns out "safe spaces" are an actual thing and people trying to get stuff banned that doesn't fit their political views, so I'm just glad I can be apart from that.

pretty much, I'm just happy I can be with my family more cause I used to only be able to see them once a year, I've seen them more in the last 6 months than I have in the past 6 years combined. That and I'm not huge into drinking (only really do it in company) and I don't do drugs cause I'd only end up turning into an even bigger fasz so I don't feel like I'm really missing out on much. Also it helps that I've cleared out a ton of my backlog and dont have a roommate, so I can do whatever I want at what ever hour of the night so long as it's not loud because I don't want to wake anyone else in the building. Overall I'm pretty happy, just wish I could force myself to get out more and enjoy the nice weather.
