in the comparatively nice and wealthy college town I live in it's pretty good, some rednecks but most of the time they end up migrating into some trailer in the middle of nowhere. outside of any moderately sized town the average IQ is sub-85.
it's not that awful in my state most of the time, but it seems like most of the other 'deep south' states are real shitholes. don't buy into the south is good meme. it really is the worst part of the country in most ways.
