I don't believe there are any schools that force you to learn Russian, it's always English + French or Latin here.

We have to learn French until about grade 10. I wish we could have learned Russian or another language.
I got good at French but forgot everything, and didn't keep taking the class because it was hurting my GPA. Our teacher was from Quebec and would almost fail everyone on spoken French even though it was impossible for us to practice the accent.
