Santa Monica and Malibu are rich people but they're still trashy so you get a lot of dick heads unlike old money in New England. Pasadena has it's rich parts and really ghetto parts I think last year only one murder case was solved, but the only reason people go to Pasadena is to go hiking in the mountains. For the regular person working 9-5 you're basically stuck in traffic or waiting in long lines at Costco or INnOut. Also lots of techno music and you better have air conditioning.

It's pretty comfy if you can afford it. I was born in Santa Monica and grew up near there. Traffic can suck getting to each of those places during the morning and evening work commutes though.
