Did you prefer American or British humour?

I prefer American except they always milk their programmes way too long instead of just letting them die.

I unironically find Community funny

Some shows i find funny, most others are really bad and cheesy.
>>
>>58035243
the show shouldve ended when michael scott left
>>
Is there anything in Britain like Curb Your Enthusiasm?
>>
>>58035293
It has the general groanworthy moments of any major sitcom but I think it has plenty of good humor. Do people like to hate on it?
>>
>>58035243
Some British shows are good and some American ones are good but a lot of them are just crap.

Well shows the office and Wilfred I always like the American versions better but lots of American comedies are cringe worthy too.

Good post

The Office should have ended the season where they were bought out by another company.
>>
Good American sitcoms:
Frasier
Everybody Loves Raymond
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Trailer Park Boys (even tho its canadian, same thing anyway)

Good British sitcoms:
The Office
Extras
IT Crowd
Blackadder
Bottom
Only Fools and Horses

Can't really think of any more. I generally like our comedy better though.
>>
>>58035243
I can't watch any American tv. There's far too many advertisements the shows are cut to 40 minutes running time, after every ad break the recaps are constant and assumes everyone has dementia from a few minutes before. The editing is lazy and the format is templated and basic with lazy writing and generally shit layout.

The UK House of cards is far better than the US version because I'm not spammed by product placement every scene.
>>
>>58044466
>Frasier

Couldn't start my day right without watching this classic on channel 4 every week day morning

I'm glad to see It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia mentioned, but how has The Thick of It, the best British comedy, not been mentioned?
>>
The first 12 years of the Simpsons was the funniest thing ever. I wish they had just canceled it rather than milking it.

It depends on the kind of show. Britain tends to do better satire and black comedy, America does better adult cartoons and sitcoms.

the last season was disappointing to say the least. Dedicating each episode to one character made it feel like nothing was happening, because you're watching 10 episodes that all have the same ending. Then they end it on a cliffhanger? That's bullshit. The rest of the seasons were GOAT though.

Haven't heard/seen much British humor, but I have seen the ricky gervais show and t's really funny. I also like the IT Crowd.

I prefer neither. Life is too horrible to laugh.

The Ricky Gervais show is goat but mostly due to Karl Pilkington
>>
British desu.
American humor is kind of grating.

I like British humour more, I don't know what it is that I like so much. Many American comedies are cringeworthy as fuck but there are good ones too, but the main problem is that they jump the shark way too often.

Do brits actually understand peaky blinders? Tried watching it--neat concept--but I couldn't understand anything.
>>
>>58056220
Yeah it's a Brummie accent, now the city it's based in is full of Pakis so watching the programme makes me sad to remember it used to be full of English people.
>>
>>58056220
Try watching Shameless UK. I doubt even most English can understand it without subtitles.
>>
>>58056383
You really can't understand shameless? The accent isn't too thick at all, maybe they use slang you know out.
>>
>>58056383
Love shameless, I'm a poor cunt and grew up on a council estate and it's so accurate in ways it's funny and sad.
>>
Dad's Army is my favourite comedy.
>>
>>58056564
Fuck off Grand Dad
>>
>>58056490
The slang is easy enough to figure out or look up but the accents make it incomprehensible at times for me.

>>58056563
F-family members constantly cucking each other?
>>
>>58056657
I supposed I'm just used to it, the accent's just sound like typical poorerner, dropping end letters etc. Good programme though
>>
>>58056612
I'm 21. I used to watch it with my Great Granddad when I used to stay at his house. Are you being served is another good one.

You should try watching the US version. It's one of the few American adaptations of a British show that turned out well. Or at least for a while. It might be best to pretend season 4 finale was the series finale.
>>
>>58056761
>malcolm & the middle
It's Malcolm in the Middle
>>
The US Office could have been pretty good if they trimmed off about 2/3 of the useless filler shite episodes and focused on plot development.
>>

No it's not.

yeah, also if instead they had a mentaloid shoot up the US office in the first episode and kill them all, and then they could of just air the original Office instead.
>>
>>58035243
American
British humor tends to be bland and boring
>>
>>58057091

>>

>>
>>58035293

>>
>>58057202
funny thing is he wasn't even a child, he had that aging disease from jerry springer.

which reminds me, there also used to be a black version of malcom & the middle with tracy morgan and his hot wife and two kids. youngest kid was about 4 but incredibly smart probably also aging disease) Think they had to take out the 3rd kid because a black problem kid would be too stereotypical. I mean, Frances of Malcom on the Middle was still kind of mischievous, but we all have seen enough of The Wire to know where a black problem child would end up.

anyway, overall I like British comedy better, because it is funnier
