Hating the US is a meme in most countries. Sure the Brits and French shit on the US, but for the most part agree that the US as a whole is beneficial for them- or at the very least recognize that we're better than Russia or China. In Germany however, hating the US has adopted a more serious face- with many Germans unironically looking toward Putin as a means for deliverance and casting votes for meme parties that adopt a fashionable anti-western stance. Maybe Germans see themselves as being the face of the EU and see American incursion into the European status-quo as threatening or something, I dunno.
But to be fair- my experience with Germans is mainly from my relatives who live in Cologne. Germans themselves are pretty cool, just very shy.

A country with great industry and good education with a very privacy and rights conscious population.
The imminent (10-20 years) demographics disaster will hit Germany before the UK though, the average age of workers in Germany is higher than here and your aging population will become a huge burden. The only possibilities for Germany to ease this burden is to get more young, working age people or to give retirees barely anything to avoid a huge defecit. I can totally sympathise as to why Germany is letting in the migrants to tackle this, though I question it if will actually work. It's a big experiment as those Muslim ghettos that have formed in the UK are not very good places to be. Hopefully Germany succeeds better than we did.
