It's more impressive that places like Brazil have been so unsuccessful when they have all the cards drawn in their favour. They're resource rich, have a large population for labour and no issues with national unity or ethnic conflicts. Brazil should be a recipe for success provided they were governed effectively. Comparing them with somewhere like Singapore or Switzerland and the failure is shocking.
