During our independence war the low countries weren't an entity, just some small states that started to rebel. In a geographic location called the low countries. There was no unity at all. Even your map speaks of multiple countries. Just look at the fucking legend at the side. Utrecht and Holland just absorbed the states around them. And Belgium wasn't part of that.
