In El Salvador, one of the most violent countries in the world, where gangs control huge swaths of territory and kill nearly a person every hour, what would be the most effective way to curb the gangs? It seems that police and military crackdowns have had very little to no effect and a truce is out of the question. What solutions are there? It seems nothing works against these gangs. Please provide your thoughts.

Yes by giving everyone guns.
They have really restrictive gun control there so only the criminals have the guns.
Good people need to be able to shoot back in these places where any Toyota pickup truck full of armed guys can roll in terrorize everyone and take over.
That's how some Mexican towns have dealt with this kind of shit. They just arm and police themselves where the police are no help.
Death Penalty and be done with it. No excuses you get caught doing gang shit you're getting killed.
