Sydney has a lot of sandstone buildings, huge amount of work considering the rock's all cut by hand.

Even if they were, they were still built with local materials and with a different look from what you'd see on the British mainland. Usually Gothic revival was also something exclusive to churches or other grand buildings, but not in this case.

You're always welcome back. If you're science-based, they've recently opened up two massive new buildings - one for nanotechnology research behind the Physics Building, and the CPC for medical sciences next to St. Johns.
Between them it's been over $1 billion AUD and the facilities are absolutely amazing. The CPC is the largest lifestyle disease research centre in the Southern Hemisphere - and one of the biggest in the world.

It's so nice. I think you guys still use the Medical building across the road, and the Anderson Stuart building (>>57916748) for anatomy labs - but a lot of your tutorials and dry labs are now done in CPC.
It's mainly geared for medical research and the medical sciences (which is what I do), but you'll probably be spending time there.
