When, long ago, the gods created Earth
In Jove's fair image Man was shaped at birth.
The beasts for lesser parts were next designed;
Yet were they too remote from humankind.
To fill the gap, and join the rest to Man,
Th'Olympian host conceiv'd a clever plan.
A beast they wrought, in semi-human figure,
Filled it with vice, and called the thing a Nigger.

Never read any.
Only thing i know about him was some chulhu shit and that the dude was into occult and apparently pretty fucking blazed.
Guess i haven't been that interested.
Good stuff as far as I'm concerned. Got his complete collection of short stories a few years back and I've been slowly working through them all since then. For someone who worked almost exclusively in short stories he built an impressively rich universe/mythos.

There is better scifi/fantasy

Love his Dream-cycle work, but I also love over-the-top descriptions of ancient ruins and civilizations.

Shit at writing dialogue and had indulgent, masturbatory prose. Still like him though. I've been working my way through all his short stories.

He had a terrible childhood but somewhat managed to be a well mannered man, he also was very rational and not into occult at all
