Very common.

I eat gołąbki whenever I can but I can't cook them though.
>>

I can get these at a small Russian restaurant not far from my condo. It's one of those simple dishes that doesn't need to be complicated to be perfect. It could easily become a comfort food for me. Not sure about other countries but this Russian restaurant serves them with a generous glob of sour cream. Russians go nuts with sour cream in general it seems, but it works.

I'm alcoholic as well.

When do you like to drink? I get the munchies 2-3 hours after I wake up.

I'm not """"""officially"""" muslim since I don't really follow any of the rules, but there are Bosnian Catholics and Orthodox Christians so for the sake of simplicity I say Muslim. Another word for it is Bosnaik(versus Bosnian which includes anyone from Bosnia, although it's common from non-Muslims from Bosnia to identify as ethnically Serb or Croat)
>>
>>57858587
I always wondered what the deal with those two terms, Bosnian and Bosniak, was. 4chan just taught me something.

I don't think I'll ever get a certain and unbiased answer on how the Balkan ethnicities are actually related. I've actually taken a bit of an interest since realizing how much you guys fight over the subject but every time I try to figure it out on here I'm told something new.

forget about everything and just ignore the balkan wars and ethnicities discussions alltogether, that's the best thing you can do if you want to keep your sanity

>or you can join in on the dank memeing that's been going on since the 90's
>>
>>57858913
Isn't the dank memeing way older than the 90's? I mean I know the Ottomans fucked things up a really long time ago, and I know Croatia's separate identity goes back to being part of the Austrian empire. I also know that explains the weird fucking shape of your country because Austria fortified everything on the coast to deny the kebabs naval access there. I also know about the Ustase history killing Serbs in WW2. And then of course there's the 90's. And probably a lot more in between all of the above that I'm either forgetting or never learned about to begin with.

it's way older, the balkans were always like a keg of gunpowder just waiting to explode

they all want to rise up and separate in a way

"croatians" in the north indentify more with the austrians and slovenians then croats they would
probably separate and join them if they had the chance

"croatians" in Istria and some in dalmatia indentify themselves more with italians they would probably separate and join them if they had the chance

serbs living in croatia would go apeshit again if they had the chance and proclaim "sprska krajina"

thats the groups i can think of right now in croatia but there is way more and it gets way complicated than that
>>
>>57855688
Here it's very common.

We always make them during Easter and Christmas.
>>
>>57859221
more than 3 people here will think that they are something special and somehow very smart and have a good reasson to separate. God damn it I wish i born in some more peacefull place like Africa...

Pretty common. I remember eating a bunch of those in the military. Guy in the next bunk got massive farts from them though, so I now have PTSD.
I make them myself when there's domestic spring cabbage for sale. I like to stuff them with veal.

Never ate non-Turkish versions.
We fill them with a meat and rice admixture, is that common? I think stuffed veggies go best with yoghurt.

Today we have pic related, it will be ready in a few.

If we take 3 big tribal groups.
Slovenes, Croats and Serbs. + Bulgarians, but they're marginal for this discussion.
There is a tectonic divide, a faultline in the Balkans.
Serbs and Croats both formed several states. Croats: Slavonija, Croatia, Dalmatia
Serbs formed: Duklja (Zeta, Montenegro), Raska (Serbia), and 3 little shits in what is now Croatia (Travunija, Paganija - yes, it's named like that cuz we wuz panags and shit, and Zahumlje).
Bosnia had both ethnicity and formed it's own state. They we're not that influenced by either Catholicism or Orthodoxy.
When the Turks came they gladly converted for benefits.
Now the Bosniak national identity relies on their medieval statehood and islamic faith. The latter may be because Serbs and Croats tied their identities to their denominations in the time of national awakening in the 19th century.
Montenegrin national identity stems only from statehood, and elitism towards Serbs, they considered themselves to be the best Serbs.
Macedonians are a strange fucked up mix of Serbs and Bulgarians where the two nations fought.
>>
>>57855688
It's not uncommon but I haven't had one for years.

I don't really know. My mom or grandma never cook these and I don't remember them fromschool mensa either.
But it looks similar to filled paprika, which is common.

We make it with veal in my area although a ground mix of lean pork and fatty beef real well, boil them with red wine/ tomato sauce and then bake in the oven A dutch oven is the best choice as to cookware. but special clay pots with a lid are used in areas were they don't boil them first.

Afaik before rice people used either decorticated wheat or some other less common cereals like millet(which were used in ancient times)
Also one of the few vegetarian recipes that I like for its own sake. Instead of meat pan fry a mix of onions spinach and mushrooms(pref a mix of more common types with more expensive flavourful varieties.)

. Only use enough rice to bind the entire thing together not like other cunts, but make sure you add bits of smoked slanina(pret mangalita) and/or bacon between the rolls. Gives it a nice flavour. Serve with a bit of polenta and some dry wine. Some people like to drink a shot of tuica(fruit brandy slightly weaker than palinka but more flavourful)
