Does anyone have a few suggestions, like what are some good Spanish speaking movies? Either from Spain or Latin-America, both's fine.

Muchas gracias mis amigos.

I was under the impression Latin American Spanish is only slightly different, like how it goes with British/American English, colour- color thing. I mean, I'll probably have a Hungarian accent anyway..

Of course. Who doesn't?

There are some fine series about Charles the first/fith and Isabel the catholic queen, totally free on http://www.rtve.es/television/isabel-la-catolica/
http://www.rtve.es/television/carlos-rey-emperador/
The Spanish can be a bit harder,as it is very formal,so depending on your level you should watch them or not.

I'm up for any movie, as long as I can find some English or Hungarian subtitles. I'm still at the very beginning of learning a new language, so I'm just trying to get used to people talking, the feel of Spanish. So I was like, why not have fun while I do it, no?

As a matter of fact, there are English subtitles for it, I just looked it up. You seriously underestimate how big subscene and opensubtitles had gotten over the years.

>Does anyone have a few suggestions, like what are some good Spanish speaking movies? Either from Spain or Latin-America, both's fine.

Spain makes absolutely God-tier horror films:

Rec (2007), El Orfanato (2007), Los ojos de Julia (2010), Intrusos (2011).

El laberinto del Fauno (2006) is good too, not terror though.
Latin-American movies are usually shit. Las nueve reinas (2000) from Argentina, is ok enough. Also if you like romantic comedies, Corazón de Leon (2013), also from Argentina is not too shitty.

Good luck mate.

Well I kinda used them everyday for the past ~7-8 years, so I saw them improve a lot. They helped me a great deal in learning English. At first I watched movies, tv shows with Hungarian subtitles, after a certain point I switched to English. Basically I was entertaining the shit out of myself while accidentally learning another language. I didn't even realize I was doing it until Hungarian subtitles started annoying me because they weren't 100% accurate.
Who says learning new things has to be a drag, right?

No problem. I also recommend Audiobooks if you like literature. I began listening to books in my commute and I feel it help my English a lot.

And I think in literature Latam fares much better than in movies.

Corazon de Leon too

The thing about Latin american spanish is that it can be more neutral than spain spanish which is plagued with localism these days, but I have to admit that the real academia spanish is the best way to learn.

Colombia has the best neutral spanish IMO. If you have a chance to learn spanish from a Colombian you should.

Why the fuck is latino dubbing a thing ??

Watching dubbed movies rather than subtitled ones isn't bad enough, you need to have the characters speak in your laughable spic accent ?

And why do movie titles get stupid names in Spanish ? When I go to Spain I never recognize the movies in the tv guide. I wait until 23.00 to see what jungla de cristal is about and it turns out it's fucking Die Hard.

OP check El Crimen Ferpecto (and other movies by this director), anything Almodovar, Inconscientes and Abre los Ojos

In the Spanish's defense, it's probably an European thing. Like, they named the Alien - A nyolcadik utas a halál, literally: The eighth traveller is death. Like wtf.

yeah it's only québec that gets the special one, i think it's because québecois sound more different compared to belges vs french? even then they don't always change a lot, like for example the song soyez prêtes (from the lion king) has a grand total of two lines changed if i remember right.

Naah, that is just anglo propaganda. They're terrified by any foreign language, but especially weird letters with accents on top such as our ű, á or é.

But you already know cyrillic. Surely a strong, Russian man like you is not afraid of a few measly letters, right?
>>
>>57831817
Because the Castilian Spanish is a joke to the rest of the Hispanosphere. They all sound like fags to us. Imagine watching a movie in English and they mispronounced the th- or ch- sound or something.

I got nothing to defend this. But they're all useful I swear.
I can't really offer an objective critique, since it is my native language, so to me it appears easy, but this dude explains it very well for someone who's a foreigner I think http://www.fluentin3months.com/hungarian-is-easy/

Pedazo de subnormal, el que confunde la pronunciación eres tú. Pronunciar la palabra caza y la palabra casa dice mucho de vuestra pronunciación.

>''Juan, me voy de casa''

Se va a cazar o se va de casa?

>''Me voy a casar''

Se va a cazar o a casar?

Que te den por el culo

You can watch any american movie you want with spanish/latino dubs, we dub literally everything.
>>
you should watch argentine movies after you learn spanish, 2nd person in plurar changes from vosotros to ustedes, and 2nd person in singular changes from tu to vos, thus changing most verbs conjugations too
>>
>>57836825
Is the 2nd Person singular pronounced differently in most cases?
>>
>>57837311
yeah, it's kinda like the bastard child of vosotros and tu, you should be able to tell what it is most of the time, though.
