Koreans in Kazakhstan? How come? Is it a popular destination among the Koreans?
>>
>>57821667
I wonder if our "North Korean" will make an entrance.

>>57823728
안녕하사에 아넌. 잘지냈어요?
I think.
>>
>>57824156
Stalin deported a lot of them in 1937 lol
>>
>>57824209

Tragic though...many of them had to literally dig holes and live in them in order to not die of the winter.
>>
>>57824182
North Korean? How interesting, although I reckon he is not posting from the North Korea lol

>>57824209
>>57824241
Ah, I see. Very unfortunate. Are they at least doing good in Kazakhstan? Are they over the hard times?
>>
>>57824309
Yeah they doing not bad, one of the richest man in Kazakhstan is korean tho
casino business is also under koreans
>>
>>57824359
Well, that is nice. And how are Kazakhstan people doing these days??
>>
>>57824309
Yeah, I don't think "she" is, either.
But eh, if I see a pic of her house I might consider it. It'd be really cool if we did have one, though.

>>
>>57824808
Indeed. I hope that anon shows up, I guess I would have even more questions then
>>
>>57825197
That anon frequently visits /pol/ so if you go there you may see "her" around.
>>
>>57825647
Argh, I'll pass. /pol/ is real cancer these days
>>
>>57825800
I've been there too long to care but I can definitely see what you mean. Hopefully you'll see that anon around here sooner rather than later.
>>
>>57825858
I hope so. Do you maybe have some idea why there are no Koreans here, besides time difference? Is 4chan not popular there?
>>
>>57825950
Koreans are, for some reason, kinda insular. That's why there's so few on here as a whole.

They tend to want to talk to people and develop relationships with them so you can find them on more mainstream things. Or on penpal sites where they want to improve their English.

They probably have their own chan like the Japanese.
>>
>>57826269
>Koreans are, for some reason, kinda insular.
Well, I kind of knew that in the back of my head. And like you, I don't know the reason. But one would expect, when there is somebody interested in their culture, that they would be open to those people and questions. Then again, I know too little about their culture and society to draw any sound conclusions.

>penpal sites
Call me a donkey, but what are these? Can you recommend any?

ilbe is probably that. the users are drawn to conservative ideologies and trollings. but its not like a chan as imageboard culture. taiwan has their decent chan called Komica which has a typical imageboard interface.

>>57825950
simply they dont know of chans and arent good at english as much as japanese.
>>

Sorry, anon, I got sucked into another thread. I'm back now.

hellolingo com
Is one

italki
lang-8
langparty
sharedlingo

I'm on sharedlingo and hellolingo -- I don't use them often though.

You can also check out Jewbook, possibly.
>>
>>57827206
I've never seen ilbe. I couldn't find a chan for Korea but I wouldn't know where to look. They could be really insular too, like 2chan, and you can only post from a Korean IP, or you need your Korean number or whatever it is they have.

Thanks, Britbro. Gonna try some of them in hopes I find a Korean penpal. And thank you for teaching me the word "penpal" too :)
>>57827206
>arent good at english
Well, wouldn't that be an incentive to practice English some more, especially here, where everyone is using English?
>>
>>57827418
Glad to help. They're usually pretty easygoing as both guys and girls, I've found, so you should be in good company.

Glad I got to teach you a word, as well.
>>
>>57827559
>Glad I got to teach you a word, as well.
As a language freak, I would argue that I am slightly more glad kek

By the way, are fish and chips REALLY that popular in the UK? I have always wondered...
>>
>>57827619
I'm a language enthusiast myself. There are a good few groups on normie social media that may be of interest. Who knows, you might even bump into me.

Fish and chips are extremely popular. My family and I have them on a semi-regular basis. They're seen as quintessentially a British tradition.

I tend to be a bit pickier though and will replace fish or chips with something else - pie and chips, just a sausage, etc.
>>
>>57827792
Well, normies DO have a good idea for a website, from time to time.

When I visited the UK, I found fish and chips to be a good treat for the price. Also, it kept me away from pizzas and burgers (not that it is any better)
>>
>>57827302
>you need your Korean number
Ive heard of this before. I dont know about the detail of it but this seems to fucking suck. Korean internet is under the kinda strict law, and authorities actually always crack down on those doubtful sites and users. ilbe is one of it.
Also, some users sometimes get jailed for insulting Park or worshiping NK or The Empire of Japan.

>>57827384
If they got the same number of Japanese /int/ users here, you'd get it

>>57827418
Koreans are not good at English. So its probably language learning sites like lang-8 as the Brit mentioned. The site is moderated by a Japanese and its eventually more friendly to Koreans than any other English sites. (btw I hate the site for many reasons. The main reason is the way they try doesnt work well for improving language skills.)
>>
>>57827912
Yeah, they do. I'm borderline normie, sometimes, so that's okay for me.

I fucking love pizzas. I would eat them all the time.

>>57829409
Yeah, it's a ridiculously closed system they seem to have. I fabricated a Korean number on hanmail before and got an email address there, but this was a long time ago. You seem to need it for registering practically everything I've heard.

To get this thread back on some korea level:

I'm considering graduating in 연세 due to quite lax conditions for foreigners/friendly connections with my current university.

However some of the local korean exchange students warned me that graduation there would be worthless,
cause if wanted to stay after, korean companies would prefer westerners from western universities anyway.

Too much work for a stupid title.

Also relationships, would be only possible if i won't mind letting myself getting fetishized.

Of course those statements came from individuals, deeply frustrated by hell Yoseon,
so i hope i find somebody here, who's not totally biased ...

Inb4: No yellow fever/한류 addict, i just want to explore the world while i can.
Staying in korea after graduation is not planned, it's just the quite possible possibility...
