Hello. I have studied the interactions with Australians for many years and in my learned opinion the answer to your question (is the antagonism between these countries something real or it's a meme?) is the second option, that it is a meme.
If nothing else, solely by virtue of both Canada and Australia being meme countries notable only for their complete lack of anything resembling a settlement over 90% of their country, hostile climates, weird wildlife and a feral separatist underclass that everyone laughs at who speak another language, and crybabby abos who have hurt feelings about "genocide" or some petty horseshit like that.

Shitposting is becoming an issue for me, it started as a joke because of the moot "australians shit post" meme. But then it became the only comments i made. I made whole folders filled of shitposting memes and whenever i saw a post i imminently though how could i shitpost with this?
But its spread to my real life, i was doing a safety in the workplace course and one of the people in my group was an Indian guy. The ENTIRE time all i could think of was memes. i started writing them into my answers like "put the tools and equipment back into the designated area" and putting designated in as many answers as i could.
