I applied for Erasmus, and I will go to Sweden. The best Universities in the list of selection were all from Northern Europe (If we divide it in two as Southern and Northern). And guess what, 70 of 100 students selected shit universities in Spain, Portugual and Italy just for the degeneration rollercoast. I really pity people sending their girlfriends to there, just to know she will get dicks like she never had.
My gf was head of ESN at a university in Lithuania. They organised a day trip to another city in Lithuania and managed to get the erasmus students free accommodation in the dormitory of another university in that city. Everyone was drinking in the dormitory during the evening (as erasmus do), but there were some Turkish students who got REALLY shitfaced maggot drunk.
Next morning everyone got up early to take the train back, however the building supervisor held back my gf and one other mentor. As it turned out, one of these Turkish students had taken a dump in one of the hallways. Given that my gf and this other mentor were responsible for the group they had to clean it up....
Spain erasmus-ing in Italy here, but I do mostly everything by my own. Live alone and travel alone. Met people from a lot of other countries too. It's bretty nice 2bh and I got some really good marks too.

Brit here, 7 months in at a very popular erasmus uni. Some thoughts on the different nationality groups.
GERMANS: Most friendly (apart from Spaniards), anarchists, like hiking and being naked. Slightly creepy fixations on black people. Most likely to be visited by friends from home.
ITALIANS: Lecherous, all cheating on their girlfriends and boyfriends back home. Only know how to cook with an oven. Always a laugh, good quality banter.
DUTCH (and Flemish): Seem to only ever speak in English, and speak it better than the brits, but are also really good at Spanish. Get on well with everyone.
FRENCH (and Walloons): Unintelligible accents, ask stupid questions in lectures. Cliquey and don´t hang out with other erasmus. Easily worst group.
POLISH: Surprisingly meme-less, they are out-going and really into immersing themselves into spanish culture.
TURKS: Worst at speaking Spanish, few can manage to string a sentence together. Good fun on nights out.
BRITS: Terrible accents, they try to avoid speaking Spanish as much as possible. Easily recognisable by their awkwardness with kissing\greeting people. Least likely to be visited by friends from home.
