How good is the math education in your country?
It's pretty terrible in the early ages here. Gets better in High School
It's ok, so I can tell you that picrel is correct but I'm dumb. I have problems with subtracting. It takes while for me and I still do not trust myself.
>>57768364
That image is completely correct though. I don't see the problem.
I agree it's correct.
40 - 32 is 8, then divide by 2 to get 4
>>57769073
>>57768739
You guys don't know about the order of operations, or am I being trolled?
>>57769073
>>57769115
I know you're baiting but it's
32/2 = 16, 40-16
>>57769115
No, that's not it at all.
>>57768364
4 ! = 4×3×2×1=24
>>57769131
>>57769150
Do you know what a factorial is?
>>57768364
that image is correct
40-32/2 > 40-16 = 24 or 4!
>>57768739
>It's ok
>I have problems with subtracting
Well it's obviously shit then.
In terms of achievements, like international math competitions and so on its barely OK here, but in terms of mass education it's absolutely shit, like everywhere else. People here are fucking retarded, at least in terms of logical thinking. I've heard a psychiatrist say that children start learning some important mathematical concepts way too late, and their brain is already too developed at that point to get into the right way of "thinking" for maths.
32/2 = 16
40-16 = 24
4! = 4.3.2.1
4.3.2.1 = 24
24=24
correct.
>>57769115
good joke
>>57768364
>bait the thread
its 24
I know Jesus Christ is my savior, but the answer is not 4!
>>57768364
Shit in public schools, shit to slightly above average in private ones.
>>57769194
Nice joke
>>57769365
>Shit
It's not that good, it's basically nonexistent actually.
its correct
you get 40-16=4!
24=24
because 4!=1*2*3*4 which is 6*4 which is 24
>>57769222
It says that.
I though you Finns had good education
>>57769073
>24 = 4
>correct
american education
Why would he use that notation tho
Smartasses should be punished, I don't see anything wrong here
>>57768364
Is Sweden one of those Western countries (this is strictly NOT the issue guys) that allow high school students to use calculators?
>>57770058
4! = 24
24 = 24
the exclamation mark is a factorial dumbass
that means 4 x 3 x 2 x 1
>>57770289
it's an ebin trole
>>57768364
Mental boot camp for 12 years. I think we're the top country in the world for PISA math.
If you arrive to any answer other than 4 from this equation, you must literally have a steel rebar lodged in your skull and running straight through your brain stem. You were also probably punted head-first into rock at birth and probably also had your head rolled over by a bulldozer.
40 - 32 [8] / 2 [4]

it's pretty good.
I've heard we have the most difficult math classes in Europe.

Yea okay mate.

yeah ok, Australia
Retards don't know about factorials. ßmh fåm
>>57772073
So difficult no one has ever passed the finance or accounting exam
>>57770461
you are wrong.
suppose 4! = 4 x 3 x 2 x 1. dividing both sides by 4, we get ! = 3 x 2 x 1, or ! = 6. the symbol (!) is not even a number, you idiot.

fucking EPIC bro like they are so dumb lol they got mislead by a misleading bait pic hahaha what a bunch of losers lmaoooo
>>57769898
Who told you these lies
Why don't people use brackets for these kinds of things? It's much easier than learning some arbitrary order of operations.
>>57772073
I don't remember any of it, so what was the point? Fuck gr education and the industry built around it desu
I think education in America is very laissez faire. Up to you if you wanna learn or not, at least in public school. Parents are another variable. Classes are available if you excel, especially in middle and high school. Maybe this is too general/ vague.
>>57772407

There's nothing misleading in that pic at all

Pisa is a jewish conspiracy to make the yellow race look smarter than we really are.

It's a purpose-built bait pic and you know it.

Math schools teach math better? What are you trying to say? Our schools are super good in general or they at least were in 90s.
Well from what i read in this thread my math education was amazingly good.
>>57772545
Öh ökäy
I have a better problem for you, /int/.
Prove that there are infinitely many prime numbers.
Don't use google ofc.
I am pretty sure every non-dumb person is able to prove it.
>>57773741
>there are an infinite amount of numbers
>therefore there are an infinite amount of prime numbers
>>57773741
>what is proof by contradiction
>>57770671
It depends if they are paying or being paid.
>>57773859
underrated
>>57773816
You didn't prove anything. What if there is the biggest prime number?
>>57773859
>>57773824
Continue your logic
>>57773741
>Putin has told me.
Because numbers are man's creation not nature's.
>>57773741
oh come on
everyone has heard of that proof
>imagine there is one biggest prime number
>get the product of all primes up to that max one
>add 1
clearly you can't divide that number by any of the primes you used to build it
so it's either prime (so, contradiction) or it has a prime factor that isn't one of the factors you used to build it (so again, contradiction)

>>57768364
