Washing once a week = 45ct per week, times 51 = 22,5$ per year, plus the 300$ purchase price.
In the first year, you'll have paid 322,5$ for dry clothes.
Literally the same is achieved with 10$ for a drying rack.
After 50 years of using that shit, it'll be 1447,5$.
The drying rack will still be 10$.

Look fatty, it's clear that only you and your uncultured northern neighbour are the only ones who consider it normal to throw your clothes in a tumble dryer. Electricity is cheap.
>>
>Gas dryers use electricity to run the motor but gas to dry the clothes. Since gas dryers are rated in British Thermal Units, you need to convert the BTUs to therms, which is how the utility company charges for gas. A typical dryer uses between approximately 11,000 BTUs per hour because the gas cycles on and off during the drying time. One therm equals 100,000 BTUs, which means a dryer uses .11 therm per hour. The gas costs roughly $.11 for an hour. Electricity to power the drum uses .15 per kilowatt hour, resulting in a cost of $.12 per hour to run the dryer.

>The label on the back of the dryer should indicate the watts it uses. Electric companies charge by the kilowatt hour, so calculating how much it costs to run an electric dryer starts with finding out the kilowatts it takes to run the dryer for an hour. The formula for determining usage is watts times the hours used divided by 1,000 to get the total kilowatt hours. Average dryers use between 1,800 to 5,000 watts or 1.8 to 5 kilowatt hours -- 1,800 and 5,000 times one hour divided by 1,000. Using Northern California PG&E; rates at $.14 per kilowatt hour for an example, most electric dryers average between $.25 and $.70 to run for an hour.

My family is actually too poor to afford basic kitchen applicances so why don't you fuck off you arrogant american shit. You think you are a big man because you can afford a toaster for your extra cherry americans will never be a skelly pop tarts, you think that having a dryer makes you better than me, you think your country having an economic situation that allows you to purchase a machine which will moisten the shit stains from your underpants then scrape the stain away makes you better than me?

Actually I think I am better than you.
You will never know how it feels when you can't afford a fucking washing machine and have to bathe with your dads dirty undies to avoid wasting water. If I have a shower I have to use my mums bra as a sponge so it gets cleaned at the same time as me. You don't know how it feels to cut open your nipple on your mothers underpants because she has slutty panties with fucking sequins in them but they are cheap plastic sequins and really sharp. You don't know how it feels when you can't afford to use the oven more than once per day so if you aren't home when the family cooks dinner is cold for that day. You don't know how it is when you don't even have space to hang clothes to dry so have to hang them from lightbulbs meaning the room has a pink glow from your mothers panties. Meaning you have bad vision and can't even read things in small print so even if I could afford a dryer I wouldn't know how to use it. fuck off. I am better than you, I struggle for everything.

top loaders create rotational energy high enough to move the machine around like a bot if you don't fix them down, side loaders also create rotational energy, but it is directed into the ground so the machine stays put

A solid argument in favor of dryers is the value of time. How long does it take you to put your clothes on and off the rack? Ten minutes? Where putting them in and out of a dryer takes ten seconds and cost about 45 cents. Would you work for $2.70 an hour? Because that's what you're doing with the clothes rack. Using a dryer frees up time, which in America is more valuable than $2.70 an hour.

Where do they put their carps then?

it is visible from your image that the cylinder is fixed in the orientation that is used in a side filled machine... the number of fixtures does not give any advantage other than create more complexity and complexity is bad so your dad is literally looking for reasons to justify his shitty investment

So it'll take an extra hour or two with a hammer drill. I did a gas piping job 2 weeks ago on house by going through a ~30cm stone foundation and a crawlspace with ~50cm clearance. Now that sucked.

Yeah, let's craft idiotic additionally machinery into our kitchen equipment because we're too fucking stupid or lazy to keep a water filled $1 tray in our freezer. Ice makers are a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, just like rice cooker and bread baking machines.

>>
>>57690901
Gas stoves are generally cheaper to operate and more efficient than electric ones. Turning the gas into electricity then running the electricity to an electric stove is a lot more than simply running the gas to the stove. If the house doesn't have gas lines then your probably better off with electric, but many homes have gas lines.

Those aren't that useless desu, often have additional functions like kneading pizza dough and it does a much better, more thorough and less tedious job at that compared to doing it manually, and I'd wager the energy use is lower too when baking bread compared to doing it in a regular oven

We don't do that here either, but there are gas power plants. Using the electricity that's made from gas to power an electric stove uses more gas per meal than using the gas to power a gas stove.

More gas is more expensive than less gas.

I'm also not fundamentally opposed to driers, if your electricity is cheap as fuck (here it's not as I said above) and/or you don't have room for air drying racks/spindles, then meh, go for it
>>57691432
Those are like €100, and if you factor in working time you save that way (like easily half an hour, plus because the machine does the kneading and baking in one same container you have less dishes to wash) it might not take that long to amortise

Assuming your time is worth $30 an hour and kneading bread takes 5 minutes each 5 minutes you spend kneading bread cost you $2.50. If you bought a $100 bread machine, it would take 40 loafs of bread plus the cost of electricity to cover the cost of the kneading functions of the machine. If I made bread I might get one.
