Western colonial slave trade lasted from the early 1500s until the early 1800s (or the late 1700s if you count Robespierre abolishing slavery) and was almost instantly opposed by religious authorities like Bartholomé de las Casas and the Quakers.
Islamic slave trade persisted from the 13th century until the 20th century (nominally, some suggest it continues to this very day through illegal means), was much crueler than Western slave trade (compare the Code Noir of the French colonies that attributed limited rights to their black slaves to the routine practice of castrating slaves practiced by Arabs, which was a downright lethal practice at the time due to a lack of proper medical means) and was more or less approved by religious authorities (most likely because Muhammad himself owned slaves).
Muslims practiced colonialism and slavery before the West even got involved. The West was simply better at colonialism AND abolished slavery.

What's up with that random patch of Protestant land along the western coast of Baffin Island? I'm pretty sure the entire population of the island (and it isn't large) lives on the eastern coast. I think that entire "Protestant" area is uninhabited.
